As one year ends and another begins, we wanted to take a moment.

The start of a new year is not easy for everyone. For many, it brings reflection and the weight of absence. If today feels like that for you, please know you are not alone.

To the families who trusted us throughout 2025, thank you. It has been a privilege to care for those who mattered most.

As we step into the year ahead, our promise remains the same. To listen, to be present and to care properly and personally.

Saturday saw us hold our annual Memorial Service at the stunning St Michael & All Angels Church ( ).

Thank you to everyone who came and to those who joined via the webcast link. It was a very special evening, and it was so lovely to see so many of those we have cared for again.

The evening is the highlight of our calendar and we put so much effort into making it special, and it means everything to us to see you all there.

It was very moving to be able to pause and reflect on the year, read the names of those who have come into our care, and share the evening with you all.

T O M O R R O W

A little behind the scenes fact… Simon has been writing and leading memorial services for as long as he has been a funeral director. When he joined Memories five years ago, he brought that with him, and it has become a much loved part of what we offer for the families we have cared for.

Every year he challenges himself to write something new, personal and meaningful… and every year he somehow manages to outdo himself.

Tomorrow is set to be one of the most beautiful and heartfelt evenings we have ever held. It will be moving, thoughtful and full of love. ✨

We’ve also sent David and the team out to stock up on tissues… just to be safe. ❤️

We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone who is coming.

Last week we had the privilege of looking after a lady who was truly one of a kind. Her family chose to fill the chapel with the things that made her who she was, including videos of her singing karaoke and her favourite song that had everyone joining in with plenty of laughter as well as tears.

She was a real character, full of life and mischief, and it felt only right that her final journey reflected the joy she brought to the people around her.

Thank you to her family for trusting us to help you celebrate her in a way that was filled with love, humour and the memories that made her so special. ❤️

A little sneak peek for this years memorial evening
Our orders of service have arrived today and they look beautiful. Memorial Print have done an amazing job for us again and we are really grateful for their care and attention. They are always so easy to work with and they have captured the feel of the evening perfectly.

We are looking forward to welcoming families into church on Saturday 13 December as we come together to remember the people we love.

We were back at the wonderful St Michael and All Angels Church in Bramhall today supporting a very special family. When they learned their mum was nearing the end of her life, her daughters planned every detail of her funeral to take as much worry away as they could when the time came.

They spent time with us washing and dressing their mum, doing her hair and making sure she looked exactly as they wanted for her final journey. It was a really beautiful and personal moment for them and we felt privileged to be part of it.

Her journey to Mill Lane Cemetery was led by four stunning black horses and both the church and the cemetery were filled with people who came to show their love and support. It was incredibly moving to witness.

A special thank you to Grestys Florist Stockport for the beautiful flowers and for decorating the church with such care. Everything looked perfect for a lady who was clearly very loved.

Caring for a gentleman does not end on the day of the service. Sometimes it takes us much further ❤️

Recently, after we had the privilege of caring for a gentleman here and carrying out his cremation, Adam travelled out to Poland to make sure the final part of his journey was handled with the same dignity and respect.

He spent time in Łódź 🇵🇱 at the cemetery where this gentleman is now laid to rest, ensuring everything was exactly as the family wished. From checking the location to speaking with staff on site, Adam made sure that every detail was right.

Afterwards he travelled on to Krakow, taking a moment to reflect before heading home 🇬🇧. It was a long few days, but this is what we do when a family puts their trust in us.

For us it is never just “our job”.
It is about people. It is about doing things properly. It is about care that continues, even when it means travelling across a continent to make sure everything is as it should be. 💙

Thank you to the family for allowing us to look after him throughout his journey.

🎄 Christmas Memorial Invitations 🎄

David and Adam are out today hand delivering our Christmas Memorial Service invitations to the families we have cared for this year.

Many of you will receive yours today.
If we have supported you in previous years, you are still very welcome to join us. We just ask that you let us know if you would like your loved one included in the service so we can make sure their name is read out and that everything is prepared for you.

It is always a comforting evening and a chance to remember loved ones together.

A lovely morning in Romiley 🤍

Recently we visited the Romiley Bowling and Petanque Club to put up our new Memories Funerals banner and to show our support for this brilliant local club.

It was great to catch up with Roy and hear about all the exciting plans they have for the future. The club has such a welcoming feel and it is a real part of the Romiley community.

We are proud to support local spaces like this and to play a small part in helping them continue the great work they do.
