Did you know you can now get treatment for common conditions directly from your local pharmacy without needing to see a GP?
Under the NHS Pharmacy First scheme, pharmacists can assess and treat a range of conditions, including:

✅ Sinusitis
✅ Infected insect bites
✅ Impetigo
✅ Shingles
✅ Uncomplicated urinary tract infections (women aged 16–64)

Sunburn doesn’t just happen on holiday. Even in the UK you can get burnt between March and October, so it’s important to protect your skin at home too. Use at least SPF30 suncream, cover up and spend time in the shade.

With temperatures rising this weekend, we’re encouraging everyone to take extra care in the warmer weather☀️

Here’s how to stay safe:

- Drink water regularly – avoid too much caffeine or alcohol

- Keep cool indoors, close blinds during the day and open windows when it’s cooler outside

- Avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day (11am–3pm)

- Use high-factor sunscreen and wear protective clothing outdoors

- Look out for those who may struggle in the heat, especially older adults, young children, and those with health conditions

Heat exhaustion can come on quickly. If you feel unwell, take it seriously. Rest in a cool place, drink fluids, and seek medical advice if needed.
