💙 It’s Learning Disabilities Day! 💙

Today we want to give a big shout-out to all the amazing people in our community who are living with learning disabilities, and to the families, friends, and carers who support them every day. You inspire us. 🧡

At all our surgeries, we’re here to try to make healthcare easier, calmer, and more accessible for everyone. That means taking the time to listen, making adjustments when they’re needed, and working together to make sure every patient feels comfortable and valued.

If you or someone you care for has a learning disability, please feel free to chat with our team about the support we offer, including annual health checks and personalised care.

Let’s keep building a community where everyone feels included and supported. 🧡

💜 World Pancreatic Cancer Day 💜

Heaton Moor Medical Group is joining people around the world to shine a light on pancreatic cancer - a disease often diagnosed late and difficult to detect early.

Awareness of symptoms and risk factors can make a difference. If you or someone you care for has concerns, please reach out to our clinical team.

Common symptoms include:
• Unexplained weight loss
• Persistent abdominal or back pain
• Jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes)
• Changes in bowel habits
• Loss of appetite
• New-onset diabetes not linked to weight gain

While these symptoms can have many causes, it’s important to get them checked.

We recognise this day with the colour 💜 in support of those affected, their families, and the researchers working for earlier detection and better treatments.

For advice or to speak to a GP, please contact the practice.

Together, we can raise awareness and offer hope.💜

📣 A Message from Our Colleague Liam – Movember Update

“Some days, cancer hits harder than I ever expected. But this Movember, I’m fighting back in my own way.

I’m growing this moustache as a badge of resilience - a reminder of why raising awareness matters.

Together with the incredible support of my colleagues here at Heaton Moor Medical Group, we’ve raised £847 so far for men’s health. 💙

As we mark International Men’s Day, please take a moment to check in on the men you love. Men’s mental health matters. A simple conversation could make all the difference.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us, whether it was by donating to our fundraiser or by donating a prize to our raffle - let’s keep the momentum going! 💪”

Today on International Men’s Day, we’re joining NHS Greater Manchester in highlighting the importance of men’s mental health. 💙

Today, on International Men’s Day, we’re shining a light on something that too often stays in the dark: men's health and su***de.

Every man deserves to feel heard, valued, and supported. If you’re struggling, you’re not alone. Reaching out is a sign of strength - not weakness.

To help us all recognise the signs and know how to support someone in crisis, the Zero Su***de Alliance offers a free, quick, and potentially life-saving online training course.

Take the training - visit the link in the comments. A few minutes could make all the difference.
