Concerned about scrotal swelling? You're not alone.
Hydrocele is one of the most common causes of painless testicular swelling in men and it's very treatable.
Mr Stephen Brown, Consultant Urological Surgeon in Manchester, discusses what you need to know about hydrocele surgery.
A hydrocele is a fluid-filled sac around the testicle that can cause discomfort and swelling over time. Hydrocelectomy is a routine day-case procedure performed under general or local anaesthetic, with most men back to normal within a few weeks. Early assessment is always recommended. Left untreated, hydroceles can grow and become increasingly uncomfortable.
