It was great to welcome Life Leisure into our hospital restaurant today. They’ve been giving away free exercise kit bags to staff members, featuring exercise advice, resistance bands, pedometers and more to help promote health and wellbeing.

We had our big switch-on of Christmas Lights this week outside the hospital’s headquarters. A big thank you to the pupils of Stockport Schooll (Orange House) who sang carols during the event and who are also fundraising for our Stockport NHS Charity during the school year.

It is National Grief Awareness Week, which aims to create a safe space for individuals to openly discuss their experiences with grief and loss. To mark the week our palliative care team have organised a Grief Walk’n’Talk on Wednesday 3rd December – 9:30am at Alexandra Park in Edgeley. Join them for a gentle walk, take some time in the fresh air for a chat, share, or simply walk with others who understand. After the walk, they will join in Edgeley Library for a special one-off Grief Café offering light refreshments and support. For more info email charlotte.ryan@stockport.nhs.uk

They’ve also organised a flower based art competition for the week too. Send in your photos, drawings or paintings of flowers. There are prizes including beauty vouchers, spa vouchers, pamper sets, coffee vouchers, etc for the winning entries.

Enter by 5th December, entries will be displayed in Stepping Hill Hospital’s Pinewood Education centre 8th December
