โญ๏ธToday is International Day of the Midwife โญ๏ธ

To celebrate this day, we invite you to take a moment to reflect on the people who supported you through pregnancy, labour, birth and those first few days with your new baby.

Feel free to share a picture and share any memories of the midwives of Stockport and the High Peak who supported you. Some of these may be shared on our social media across the rest of the day.

Help us celebrate our wonderful midwives today.

Weโ€™re inviting you to host a Caring Cuppa to support our Stockport NHS Charity Incubator Appeal and help us buy a state-of-the-art incubator for our neonatal unit. Your support will help give our tiniest patients the best possible start.

Bring together family, friends, neighbours, or colleaguesโ€”at home, at work, or in your community.

Enjoy a cuppa and a catch-up, ask for a small donation, and know that every pound raised helps us equip our neonatal team with vital, life-saving equipment.

How to take part
โ€ข Pick a date and invite your guests.
โ€ข Make the tea (and cake if you like!).
โ€ข Share why youโ€™re supporting the Incubator Appeal.
โ€ข Collect donations on the day and thank everyone for taking part.

Ready to host yours? Hold a Caring Cuppa and help us raise funds for the new incubator. To receive a free starter pack of tea and biscuits please contact: kate.leadbeater@stockport.nhs.uk /

With the bank holiday approaching, make sure you order your repeat prescription in good time to avoid any delays in getting your medicines.

GP practices and pharmacies may have different opening hours, so itโ€™s best to plan ahead and not leave it until the last minute.

Find out how to order your repeat prescription here, including via the NHS App: https://nhs.uk/nhs-services/prescriptions/how-to-order-a-repeat-prescription/

Do you know the signs and symptoms of bowel cancer?

If youโ€™ve had blood in your poo or bleeding from your bottom, a change in bowel habits, unexplained weight loss or a pain or lump in your tummy, and these symptoms last three weeks or more, itโ€™s time to get them checked out.

Chances are itโ€™s not bowel cancer, but if it is, finding it early can make it much more treatable.
