The official opening of our new outpatients building was held today – a fantastic state-of-the-art new environment bringing our outpatients services together once more. Contractors MTX have done a fantastic job together with our capital projects, estates, clinical, charity and other colleagues who helped made it happen.

Other guests at the opening included Tom Morrison MP, Lisa Smart MP, and Stockport Council leader Mark Roberts. Pride of place at the opening was a fantastic cake in the shape of the new building!

Our deputy chief executive John Graham recently presented Bramhall community staff nurse Holly Murray with an Above and Beyond award for making a real impact on the team and the patients they serve. Holly initiated a special project to support end-of-life patients and their relatives. Drawing on her passion for knitting, she began knitting hearts and enlisted the help of local knitters.

The project, aptly named "Holly's Hearts," involves giving a knitted heart to both the dying patient and their loved one. After a few days, the hearts are swapped, so the dying patient has the comfort of their loved one's heart nearby, and the relative has the patient's heart. This simple yet profound gesture brings immense comfort to both the patient and their family member.
