As many of you know, we recently moved to a new software system called MindBody. To keep a very long story short—it was a disaster. The system was genuinely damaging to our business, and we had no choice but to move away from it urgently.

Since then, we’ve attempted to raise complaints and cancel our contract with MindBody. Unfortunately, they have effectively ignored us, deflected responsibility, and denied us our legal rights.

It seems they operate on a “we’re big, you’re small” philosophy—relying on the idea that small businesses don’t have the knowledge, time, or resources to fight back.

But we’ve since done more research and discovered that we are far from alone. In fact, trapping small businesses in unfair contracts appears to be a recurring issue with this company.

This situation has struck a real chord with us. Running a small business is hard. Running one in the current economy is really hard. Facing unethical behaviour from large companies shouldn’t be what breaks a business—but sadly, for many, it might be.

As it stands, this issue has the potential to bankrupt our business. We’re doing everything we can to prevent that, but it shows just how serious the consequences of unfair business practices can be.

So, we’re taking action, not just for ourselves, but for other small businesses too because this kind of behavior is not acceptable. One of the most powerful tools we have is collective action: connecting with others who’ve had similar experiences and sharing our experiences.

We’ve set up a Facebook group for those affected by MindBody, and we’re asking two things:

👉 Please share the group, especially if you know other small business owners who might be affected.

👉 If you were a client impacted by the issues we experienced, please consider leaving a Trustpilot review using the link below. If you can mention Posture and Poise in your review, that would really help us.

I was proud to be part of The Acupuncture Academy representing Five Element Acupuncture at the British Acupuncture Council this weekend.
