Achilles tendinopathy is a painful condition affecting the Achilles tendon, which attaches the calf muscles to the heel bone. In most cases, Achilles tendinopathy is a type of overuse injury.
The symptoms of achilles tendonitis include:
* Pain in the heel and along the length of the tendon when walking or running.
* Pain and stiffness in the area in the morning.
* Pain in the achilles tendon when touched or moved.
* Swelling and warmth in the heel or along the tendon.
* Difficulty standing up on one toe.
Achilles Tendinopathy is an overuse soft tissue injury that affects around 9% of recreational runners, but it does not discriminate and can happen to people who don't run or those who consider themselves not very active
