Have you ever tried meditation?

It's not as woo woo as it sounds....well it can be, but doesn't have to be.....it can be anything you want/need it to be.

I started meditating about 20 years ago, it helped me through some really dark times in my life and I have used it for some pretty life changing things ever since.

It helped me to grieve after struggling with my mums death
It has helped me to set clear goals
I have used it to concentrate on my breath when feeling anxious
I have used it to calm me down when feeling too stressed
I have used it to get through numerous bouts of depression in my life
I have used it to manifest those things in life I want most
I used it to help me through the pandemic
I use it everyday to relax
I use it everyday to take time out for me
I use it everyday to get through anything I'm going through good or bad.
I use it everyday to bring out happy thoughts and have a great day

There are many reasons why meditation is so great, from 5 mins to 1 hour or beyond, whatever you need it can be a tool that can be so useful in life.

If you have never tried it but would like to know how, my 6 week positivity class will include techniques such as meditation to help you feel tip top !!

The class will run for 6 weeks at a time, meeting once a week, for 1 hour via a zoom video call, so you can be in your PJ’s if you wish! During the sessions I will help you to discover techniques for leading a more positive life, relaxation techniques to help relieve stress as well as having discussions with other like-minded ladies, so we all learn from each other. It will cost you just £60 for the 6 weeks, a minimum of 5 people and a maximum of 12. I like to keep numbers low, so that members don’t feel overwhelmed and can get to know each other better.

Introducing a new class.

Somewhere where you can explore alongside other, like minded people, ways to feel more positive and in turn a lot happier.

I succeeded during the lockdown, helping a small group, through a very tough time, to keep upbeat and find ways to make the best out of a strange situation.

****POSITIVE THOUGHTS****

During lockdown, I offered a positivity class to help people keep a positive mindset.

I'm bringing it back!!! I gathered we don't need to be in a lockdown scenario to benefit from positivity!!

I will therefore be running a class which will run each week, for 6 weeks at a time, via zoom video call.

We will learn techniques to help us stay positive, and a lot of ideas for overall self care and wellbeing.

I am just gaging interest at the moment......

****Do you Take Regular Breaks From Technology*****

Since the pandemic it seems that the amount of time we spend on technology has increased drastically.

Zoom meetings, teams meetings, whatsapp calls, working on the laptop from home, phone glued to the ear, just to name a few.

Don't get me wrong it's a great thing to connect with others, all around the world, makes more time sense when you don't have to to travel to a meeting and often can be more productive when you don't have the distractions around you. However, what does concern me is the fact that we are not switching off from it.

In my work I always advise people to have breaks from looking at screens and take at least 5 mins every couple of hours to stand up from a desk and stretch the legs. Many hip/back injuries are being reported from sitting in one position for too long (often incorrectly!) eyesight is getting worse and I really don't think it's great for mental health to be glued to a screen for long amounts of time. Also working long hours into the evening can interfere with sleep, so if you are not sleeping well, try to have a cut off point where you switch off all electronic devices and do something else!

There is a lot to be said for physical human interaction, and I think that some of this may be getting lost in the cyber world we are living in. Now that we can, invite that friend for a coffee instead of a video call or go to an in person meeting instead of just relying on a virtual one, it really does boost the moral, when you get around others.

****DO YOU HAVE ENOUGH JOY IN YOUR LIFE ?****

Life is too short to sweat the small stuff so choose things you do in your life that bring you joy. Don't waste time on doing things that you do out of obligation/ don't particularly like doing.

If you haven't worked out yet what it is in life that brings you joy then I think the
most important thing you should take away from this post is to find out!

Living life in joy, can quash that stress, help to sleep easy and feel better in
mind, body and spirit.

Here are a few tips:

* know who you love spending time with/who makes you feel great once you have been around them.
* know what activities you lose yourself in and hours fly by without you realising, because you have enjoyed them so much.
* practice gratitude each day. Write down at least 5 things you are grateful for every day.
* visualise your ideal life and make action points to help get you to that life.

If you struggle to do this, think about asking the help of a life coach who is qualified to help you find your joy. Once you start living it, your life will feel lighter and you will begin to open up to endless possibilities!

As a health and wellbeing consultant I am constantly reading and researching. Each day I spend at least an hour or two reading something relevant to my work. I keep informed on current news in the health and wellbeing sector, am subscribed to many endometriosis groups and forums, and I am an addict on buying new book recommendations in anything to do with nutrition, menopause, endometriosis, fitness etc.
I have many qualifications to do with my work but I keep on learning, so that I can further help my clients and pass on as much research based knowledge as possible, so that they can achieve the best results possible.
My work is not just what I do client facing, I do so much more behind the scenes!!

Starting back tonight after the Christmas break is the class I run from my studio in Cheadle Hulme. One hour of all over body conditioning, a combination of weight circuits with body weight HIITs and core sculpting. It may be a bit short notice tonight, but if you are interested in joining a group of lovely ladies, having some fun whilst working out then please drop me a message and you are welcome to come and join us. It is 7-8 pm every Monday evening.
