Our mechanical push/pull brake/accelerator hand control is often combined with other adaptations to assist the driver.

The most common combination of adaptations adds an integral indicator switch and steering aid alongside the hand control but we also regularly install a hinged accelerator pedal. The hinged accelerator pedal creates additional leg room allowing a conventional seating position so is favourable among hand control drivers.

The hinged accelerator pedal can also prevent the accelerator pedal being depressed accidentally but can easily be deployed back down when the vehicle is to be driven using the pedals.

If you have any concerns around your feet accidentally interacting with the brake pedal, a pedal guard can be fitted. A pedal guard can cover both the brake and accelerator pedals but can also be fitted as a brake only guard alongside a hinged accelerator pedal as shown here on a recent install.

Whilst the hinged accelerator pedals are manufactured by ourselves alongside the hand controls, Des Gosling Mobility Ltd manufacturer the pedal guards. Both companies, along with other installers, can fit all the products at the same time meaning you only have to deal with one company to get the whole combination of products.

Following the design for the Suzuki eVitara, we have now also completed the boot hoist design for the none EV Suzuki Vitara.

We can install the Apex Assist Boot Hoist to load upto 100kg into this model of vehicle. If this car is of interest and you require a boot hoist, please get in touch with the make and model of your mobility device and we will assess if the combination will work together.

We install a range of remote control devices that enable the driver to operate some of the secondary functions from the steering aid.

We recently installed a Lodgesons steering ball with keypad to a Ford Focus as shown. This was installed alongside one of our twin folding left foot accelerator at Vertu Ford Crewe

It's not only new cars or Motability vehicles which we adapt but we are also regularly working on used and privately owned vehicles.

Last week we adapted a 2020 Ford Transit Connect for a customer needing a left foot accelerator. We already have a design for this product on this model and so we completed this install out on-site to assist with logistics.

A recent boot hoist installation completed for Sytner Volvo Cars in Chester ahead of handover to a Motability Customer.

We have worked on a few BYD models now as we have begun to design our products for their range.

The BYD Seal U was the first of this manufacturer's vehicles that required an electric left foot accelerator design.

We use our electric left foot accelerator product concept when a vehicle has a floor mounted electronic accelerator pedal. We ensure the left side pedal aesthetically fits within the vehicle by purchasing to chassis number and then creating a mounting point for this additional pedal on the left of the brake pedal.

Adaptations installed for a Motability customer collecting their new Honda Jazz from Swansway Honda Stockport.

A steering ball was fitted to assist with steering and a transfer plate to help with access to the driver seat. This adaptation was also fitted to the passenger side for when the user is travelling as the passenger rather than the driver.

This vehicle has been a fantastic choice for many years and is still proving a strong contender with lots of our customers. It is a great size of car for those people wanting to stay away from an SUV but still want some boot space and room for passengers.

Our latest boot hoist design is for the MG HS MK II (ICE variant).

This vehicle can take a hoist which loads up to 100kg but it is also important to consider the opening dimensions in comparison to the size of mobility device.

We would always recommend checking the dimensions with your hoist installer before ordering the car as they should be able to assist with advising on loading.

We have recently seen a rise in popularity in the Ford Tourneo Courier.

It is a great vehicle, especially for a boot hoist, which we completed a design for last October.

We have now also completed designs for the push/pull brake/accelerator hand control and the transfer plates for this model of vehicle.

Leapmotor first started selling vehicles in the UK last year with the launch of a couple of different models.

We have designed our push/pull brake/accelerator hand control for the Leapmotor T03 already and we're expecting with the launch of further models and their addition to the Motability Scheme to see more from this manufacturer over the coming months.

We recently designed a twin folding left foot accelerator for the Audi A6 e-tron.

This adaptation allows for an accelerator pedal on either the left or the right hand side of the brake pedal, with the pedal that is not in use being hinged out of the way.

The A6 e-tron was the 35th Audi model that we have designed a left foot accelerator for, some requiring the twin folding style as with the A6 e-tron and some the electric style.
