They tried to bury us. They didn't know we were seeds.

And a really old colour pencil drawing today.
I've always wanted to be able to grow cornflowers like they appear in this picture. Never managed it. Mine are always really scrawny looking but I'll try again.

This year is meant to be the year where I get my pod ready to hire and get on top of the garden again. And start to get my work life balance reorientated. I've failed miserably in January so will try harder in February. There's just always so much to do.

Talking of which, it's inspection day by our welfare officer today. So donkeys and stables will be scrubbed. She's really lovely but it's still scary. If I brush the donkeys and leave them all shiny this morning they will be thickly coated in mud by the time she arrives. So it's the stables first and I'll start brushing the boys half an hour before she comes.

It's always Monte first as he's really needy. Quietly placing his body next to me no matter what I'm up to. Then Junior. Mr Stoic. Never complaining but so desperate for love. And lastly Mr Muldoon. Pushy, boisterous, foolish, greedy for attention but not always quite sure how to deal with it once he's got it. 'I've barged my way through the other two to get to you but now I'm meant to stand still???'
I love them all so badly.
