🌸 Mother’s Day – Remembering All Mothers 🌸

Today we celebrate Mother’s Day, a special time to honour the love, strength, and kindness that mothers bring into our lives. 💐

At our care home, we take a moment to remember and appreciate all mothers – those with us today and those who live on forever in our hearts. Their love, wisdom, and sacrifices have shaped generations and continue to inspire us every day. ❤️

We are thinking of our wonderful residents, families, and staff who are remembering their mums today. May this day be filled with warm memories, love, and gratitude for the incredible women who have meant so much to us.

Happy Mother’s Day to every mum, grandmother, and mother figure. You are always cherished and never forgotten. 🌷

🎟️ Raffle tickets are now available – please speak to a member of staff if you would like to take part.
The draw will take place on the 8th of April, so make sure you get your tickets in time!

All funds raised will go directly to our residents fund. 💛

We always love a visit from therapy dog Ted and his wonderful owner Liz! 🐾💙

Ted spent time with each of our residents today, bringing plenty of smiles, cuddles and comfort along the way. It’s amazing to see how much joy and calm a friendly visit like this can bring.

We have enjoyed a lovely “Guess the Phrase” activity with our residents. 🧠✨

Residents worked together to solve a variety of well-known phrases, which created lots of laughter and friendly discussion around the room. It was wonderful to see everyone sharing ideas and helping each other to figure them out.

Group activities like this are a great way to encourage cognitive stimulation, helping to keep our residents’ minds active and engaged. They also support communication, social interaction, and confidence, while giving everyone the opportunity to feel included and involved.

Most importantly, it brought plenty of smiles and a great sense of achievement when the phrases were guessed correctly. Well done to everyone who joined in today! 😊👏

🌷 Celebrating International Women’s Day 🌷

Today we are proud to celebrate the wonderful women in our care home community. Our residents have lived through remarkable moments in history and have incredible stories, strength and wisdom to share. 💜

We also want to recognise our amazing team of carers, whose kindness, dedication and compassion make such a difference every day.

International Women’s Day is a chance to reflect, appreciate and celebrate the women who inspire us with their resilience, care and friendship.

Thank you to all the incredible women who make our home such a warm and special place. 🌸

We had a great time with our armchair exercise session! 🪑💪

These gentle exercises help improve mobility, strength and circulation while allowing everyone to stay active in a safe and comfortable way. It was lovely to see so many smiles while keeping bodies moving (and lots of singing!)😊

We have enjoyed a game of “Never Have I Ever” with our residents, and it was filled with laughter, storytelling, and plenty of smiles! 😊

Games like this are not only fun, but they also bring many benefits for people living with dementia. We use hand held paddles with a green thumbs up side and a red thumbs down side. As we played, residents were encouraged to think back to their life experiences, share memories. It sparked conversations about travel, hobbies, family moments, and funny stories from years gone by.

It was lovely to see everyone engaging, reminiscing, and learning new things about each other. These meaningful moments are so important in supporting wellbeing and keeping minds active. 💙

🌳 Our Dignity Tree 🌳

At our home, dignity is at the heart of everything we do and we have created a beautiful display.

We asked everyone a simple but powerful question: “What does dignity mean to you?” 💬

Residents and team members shared their thoughts, which was then framed and displayed on our tree. Words like respect, kindness, being listened to, and feeling valued now fill the branches.

The display is a reminder of the standards we uphold and supports our ongoing commitment to providing person-centred care, where every resident feels value
