Did you know that if you buy a six class yoga pass from me not only do you have 10 weeks in which to use the sessions but you also get free access to my Dru Yoga on Demand library.

There are a selection of classes of different themes and lengths. You can even search by time or by theme from short 15 minute practices to longer one hour classes.

At this time of year I would recommend the Easy Breathing series. These are great classes to do if you are feeling stressed or anxious or if you need to slow down after a frazzled day in the heat.

With the earth beneath me and the sky above me...

I often use the image of the earth and the sky when teaching yoga. While connecting with the earth can help you to bring a sense of steadiness and surety, connecting with the sky helps you to welcome a sense of spaciousness and freedom.

The concept of space and spaciousness can be welcomed in many different ways.

Here are some of my favourite ways to welcome more space in to my life:-

THOUGHTS - being more open minded, focussing on possibilities rather than constricted with practicalities

TIME - putting space between tasks, instead of moving directly from one thing to another

BREATH - allowing your breath to be fuller, deeper and more spacious and so soothing your nervous system

EMOTIONS - taking time to respond to feelings rather than jumping to an instant reaction

BODY - creating opportunities for your body to move and stretch and invite space in.
I always feel that something as simple as mountain pose can feel spacious if you have spent a lot of time sitting.

Choose wisely...

Listening to your inner wisdom is a great way to help cultivate discernment and make good decisions.

One of the quickest ways of creating space to listen to the messages from your body, breath and mind is to connect with the breath. Try this short practice allows you to both listen deeply and to honour the wisdom of taking the right action. It can be done sitting, standing or even walking.

Breathing with intention:

- Spend a few moments becoming aware of your breath. Notice the inflow and out flow of breath and allow your breathing to become smooth and regular.

- When you feel that your breathing is settled then use the following affirmations on the in breath and out breath.

- “Breathing in, I listen to my body, breath & mind. Breathing out, I take care of my body, breath & mind.”
