🏎️ Formula 1 is back this weekend. But just how loud is race day?

Trackside noise at motorsport events like F1 can reach 130–150 dB, levels that can cause immediate and irreversible hearing damage without proper protection.

For context, the maximum noise level considered safe is around 80 dB. During a race, spectators may be exposed to noise levels over 85 times their daily safe noise dose over the course of a race if they sit close to the circuit without protection.
