We highlighted this problem on our web post last year trying to spread the words about Accessible Information Standard.
Worth to mention AIS applies to any organisations that provide NHS services including hospitals, GP surgeries, dentists, pharmacies but also Adult social care services funded by the local authority and any independent or voluntary organisations if they are delivering NHS or publicly funded care.
"...good communication is at the heart of quality care. But for many people living with a disability, impairment, or sensory loss, accessing health and social care information isn’t always easy. That’s why the Accessible Information Standard (AIS) exists."

This year marks ten years since the Accessible Information Standard (AIS) came into force.
Today, we released new research showing that an overwhelming lack of NHS staff have not completed training on the AIS, which outlines their legal duties towards deaf people and people with hearing loss.
This is leaving millions of adults facing significant health risks when they struggle to access vital information about their own health.
RNID’s Director of Health, Crystal Rolfe, says “We call on the Government to take this issue seriously and make AIS training mandatory, and ensure the NHS is a service that meets the needs of everyone.”
We need UK Governments and NHS England to enforce the legal right to accessible healthcare for people who are deaf or have hearing loss: https://bit.ly/3M8BmhJ
