Meet Arthur 👏
Arthur is 70 years young and still working as a joiner at Wythenshawe hospital regularly fixing 60kg fire doors — no easy task at any age!
When Arthur first came to the clinic in February last year he was struggling with left-sided lumbosacral pain and associated radicular pain into his left thigh, which had been ongoing since April 2024.
He was barely able to walk, work, or enjoy much quality of life. After attending NHS appointments, he had been diagnosed with lumbar stenosis, prescribed increasing levels of pain medication, and advised that surgery would be considered if things didn’t improve.
Our focus was simple:
✔️ Settle the pain initially
✔️ Restore movement
✔️ Gradually rebuild strength and lifting capacity
Step by step, Arthur regained his ability to move, bend and lift confidently again.
Today, he’s back working 3 days a week in a physical role and maintaining his progress with chiropractic treatment every 4–6 weeks, allowing him to live life on his terms.
Arthur is proof that age is not the barrier — capacity is.
An inspiration to us all 💪
