Magnesium

Is a most important mineral helping our bodies make energy from the foods that we eat.

Vitamin D absorption (discussed last week) is dependent on magnesium.

I have been encouraging my clients to supplement with magnesium when they complain of muscle spasm due to exercise and restlessness during sleeping.

Magnesium assists by:
* relieving muscle tension and muscle spasms
* reducing tiredness and fatigue
* Improves your sleep
* Helps muscle tissue to recover after exercise and sport.
* repairing and replenishing skin, leaving it supple and giving it a natural glow

Magnesium also assists:
* normal energy-yielding metabolism
* normal muscle function
* electrolyte balance
* normal functioning of the nervous system
* normal protein synthesis

VITAMIN D

The importance of vitamin D. Vitamin D is one of the bodies most major building blocks of your immune system. Assisting many functions within the body including.

Your body makes vitamin D mainly from sunshine and some foods we eat.

So you would be prudent to be concerned that in darker months when sunshine is at its lowest here in England. You could be low in this most important vitamin.

Those of ethnic origin or black/brown skin especially please check on your vitamin D levels with your Dr and supplement accordingly. Especially during the darker winter months here in England. Covid is exploiting those deficient in this important vitamin.
