Good morning, I wanted to introduce myself and say hello to my new followers. I’m Heather Coppard and I’m an author, hypnotherapist and nurse. I have been in healthcare since the age of 19 when I started my nurse training and have worked in many different NHS roles. Ten years ago I also trained as a hypnotherapist and mindfulness practitioner and run a private practice, specialising in the management of persistent pain and female health issues.

Today is a really special day for me as I officially become a published author.
It is exciting and nerve wracking in equal measures, not least because the subject is so personal.

For the last four years, alongside my work, I have been writing this book. It combines my professional expertise as a nurse and hypnotherapist, alongside my personal experience of living with intimate pain.

Millions of women experience chronic v***al or vaginal pain, yet the issue is rarely discussed. Not only does the subject remain somewhat taboo, but women continue to describe difficulties accessing appropriate medical care, with their pain often trivialised or dismissed.

It is time for this to change and the stigma to be eradicated, so women can access reliable information, support and treatments.

This is the book that I needed when I was suffering with intimate pain and this is the book that my wonderful patients have asked me to write.
