Take a leaf out of Telos book 📖 and check when your horse is due their next massage/review and get your horse booked in for the new year! ❤️

Hi guys,
I always try and keep my prices as low as possible so everyone can access massage therapy for their horse!
There will be a slight increase in price for bookings made on/after 1st January 2024! New assessments will be £50 and follow ups will be £45!
Any bookings that are made for the new year up to the 31st December 2023 will be honoured at my current prices of £45 for new assessments and £40 for follow ups!

I know I have a few regulars that book early and like to know when your horses are due! And for this I will be coming up with something for the new year…… 👀 Which may involve discounted prices so keep your eyes peeled!!! 😊

❓ ARE YOU CONDUCTING THIS STRETCH CORRECTLY?

A stretch is not just simply moving a part of the body from A to B and back to A. It is the careful repositioning of a body part from neutral (A) gently to correctly mobilised (B), held for 10-15 seconds before a controlled return back to neutral (A).

A stretch that is commonly struggled with in relation to this progress is a lateral cervical mobilisation stretch. In the left photo you can see the stretch being incorrectly carried out, with the tilting of the head and neck to get the treat without stretching the muscles of the top of the neck and poll region.

In the right photo, the ears remain perpendicular to the ground and you can see a clear stretch of the muscles around the body of the handler. You can imagine here that each vertebral joint has an even extension around the handler, rather than some joints being mobilised and others locking.

If you are using stretches for your horse, ensure your physiotherapist has seen you conduct them to make sure the desired result is being achieved. ✨

Every horse is different…..

Not all horses appear to ‘enjoy’ their massage and some will fidget/move around or more adverse reactions will be scowling/kicking/biting!

Now as a therapist these reactions don’t bother me as much as what you may think!!……🔸This is your horses way of communicating🔸

They are letting me know which areas are painful/sore/sensitive or they are even just fidgeting to help them release tension! So please don’t be embarrassed or apologise for your horses behaviour!! 🙌

Bouncer here is one of my regulars and starts to release tension as soon as I put my hands on him!! It takes time to build up this sort of response and for your horse to have this sort of relationship with massage!

But at the end of the day, every horse has a different reaction/response to massage and and I will do my best to allow your horse freedom to process what is happening and support them in releasing tension! ❤️

DM me to book! ☺️

My own girlie looking well ❤️

Loui is quite a chunky monkey and is very heavy in front with her confirmation which means she naturally goes on the forehand and has to work hard to push from behind and across her back!

So Loui gets regular massages monthly which massively helps her stay comfortable in her work and making sure she’s building the correct muscle in the correct place!! 🙌

As helpful and lovely as a massage is for your horse, it’s the time and effort the owner puts in with schooling/hacking/groundwork/stretching that makes the BIGGEST difference! I can help advise on any exercises and stretches specific for your horse that can aid them to feel that little more comfy in their work or maintain the work that YOU are already doing!

I would love to hear from you! Please message me for any information or if you would like me to come out to meet you and your horse! ❤️

Your know your horse best ❣️

You care for and love your horse better than anyone ❣️

So when there’s something wrong your usually the first to notice the little signs your horse may be telling you!

Has your horse had reduced performance recently? Or a change in behaviour? Or do they have a weaker rein? Seem less supple? Or notice something different from one rein to the other?

These may be sings that your horse is trying to tell you something and may benefit from a massage! ❤️

If you would like any more information or have been following me awhile and would like to book in! Please send me a message 🙌

My own beautiful girlie got a wee massage last night after a bout of mild colic earlier in the week❤️

Loui was quite tense through her shoulders, pecs and glutes so we worked through these areas and now she’ll have 2 days off and back to ridden work on Wednesday! 🙌❤️

Horses do love to worry us!

Has your horse had a recent illness/injury/box rest? A massage can do your horse the world of good for increasing circulation and keeping everything feeling supple and comfortable! ❤️
Please don’t hesitate to message to find out what I can do for your horse! ☺️

When was the last time your horse had an ‘MOT’?!

Now, I don’t just mean from a physio/massage therapist perspective but from all those involved with your horse?

Sometimes time gets away from us and the next thing you know it’s been 12 months since your horse last seen a dentist/saddler/physio/massage therapist/chiro/vet! This may not seem like a big deal at the time but a lot can change in that period resulting in small niggles becoming much bigger problems and your horse displaying much more obvious issues! Which is a common time when you get professionals involved and the time for rehab and recovery is a much more time consuming stressful process!

Ensuring your horse is checked regularly by the professionals involved can seem expensive but paying for that check might result in saving money in the long run if things are picked up early and ensuring your horse stays comfortable for as long as possible!

For my regular clients, I keep a note in my diary for when I should maybe send them a reminder message to give them a little prompt to book in if I haven’t seen them for awhile!

I want to make sure that your ponies are comfortable and happy in their work and keep your life as stress free as possible from worrying about our four legged friends!

If you are interested in me coming to see your horse, please check my availability highlight and give me a message! I am here to help!!! ❤️
