Meet Tom!
Tom is a Medical Responder and Technician in the Events team. He has been with CIPHER Medical for just over a year, and said how fast that time has gone (also commented that it feels like he has been part of the CIPHER family forever - in a good way!).
Tom has said that the best of his job is interacting with patients and making a positive difference to their days, as well as being able to work in a supportive and family like environment. He also gets to enjoy a range of events and football matches up and down the country.
CIPHER has been great at helping him develop as a student paramedic, Tom has said. The technician conversion course has allowed him to stay to develop from 3rd year student towards becoming an Autonomous Clinician. CIPHER have also helped get funding for Tom to complete his C1 driving licence.
And advice? Tom has said to make the most of every opportunity to interact with people and learn. The most important skills when working with the public in any sector is communication, especially in a pre-hospital environment. Also everyday is a school day, so reflect, research and grow from every experience and patient interaction.
