This morning some of our residents downstairs chose to watch White Christmas to get in to the Christmas Spirit 🎅🎄🦌

Then after lunch it was time for our second knit and natter of November 🧶

Shirley finished off her knitting and decided it was a very thin scarf 🧣we all laughed as she pulled on it to try and make it bigger! She then started a new scarf but made sure there were more stitches on this time.

Ann started off a new blanket. Margaret and Joan started to unravel all the balls of wool that had got tangled with each other, then continued with their own projects.

Margaret offered to take the bag with her to spend time over the weekend sorting all of the wool out! She could be there for a while 🫣

We even had time to fit in a little dance when Footloose came on the radio too 💃🕺

We had a chat about what activities we would like to do and have decided to give weaving a go in our December knit and natter 🪡

Our Christmas raffle will be on display in reception from tomorrow 🎅🎄🦌

Our raffle tickets are on sale now at 50p a strip. If you would like to buy some please speak to Jenny, Nicola or one of our seniors 🎟

Our Christmas Fayre is just two weeks away 🎅🎄🦌

If you have any items you would like to donate, please bring them in.

We have a bottle tombola, tombola, bric a brac and childrens stall as well as a raffle so we appreciate any donations ❤️

We will be joined by Sam at The Posy Patch 💐 and Alison with her sweet treats 🍬

If anyone would like to take their loved one to this months Elm Tree Residents Socials party, it is next week on Thursday. Please let us know if you are going and we can get your loved one ready for when you get here to pick them up ❤️

Tea, coffee and biscuits are free and there will be entertainment on. Raffle tickets are available to purchase there, at £1 per strip.

We have already chosen who we are taking on the next two trips as there are special birthdays for some of our residents coming up.

If you would like to join us for the Christmas party at Elm Tree Social Club with your loved one we need to know numbers by tomorrow as that is a bookable event and places are already filling. The date for that one is 18th December arrive from 1.30pm 🎅🎄

If anyone can help Teesside Dementia Link Services collect selection boxes we will happily drop them off for you 💚

We hope to distribute 1,800 selection boxes. They really do make a difference on Christmas day, please help if you can.

Dominoes Club was after lunch.

It was nice to welcome new players to join in ❤️

There was great concentration to play the best move and lots of competition and we had a brilliant afternoon.

We finished the afternoon off with a karaoke sing along on YouTube and a dance 🎤💃🕺

This morning Lillium and Audrey visited their regular church for Sunday service ⛪️

They met up with friends they don't see as often, sang along to the hymns and enjoyed listening to the service.

Both enjoyed their trip out, spending time in their local community.

What a wonderful afternoon we have had, celebrating our 'Good' rating from our recent Care Quality Commission inspection 🖤💛

We welcomed Stockton's Deputy Mayor and Mayoress, Councillor Bob Cook and Sandra to our home to celebrate with us.

Joe Black sang lots of our favourite songs and we loved singing along and dancing with him 💃🕺 He kept us entertained throughout the afternoon with not only his singing but his humour too! We still want to see him in his Tina Turner dress with heels though! 👠

Thank you to Jane and Angie for our buffets 🥪 The food went down well with a glass of fizz 🥂

Thank you to all of our amazing staff members who sang along and danced 🖤💛

And not forgetting our gorgeous residents and their families who are the reason we all do what we do ❤️

Thank you to Tony from Stockton Mobile Library Services for coming in today and holding a Remembrance Day history session with us.

We all really enjoyed looking through the photographs on ipads and finding out more details after we'd shared our knowledge and memories.

After looking at the photographs he showed us some reminiscence items that he'd brought with him that most of us could remember seeing when we were younger.

We've put our requests in for what we'd like to look at next time Tony visits too!

It was lovely to hear people still talking about what they'd looked at after the session had finished and lots of memories being talked about.
