We’re sharing an important update about how appointment reminders are viewed at the practice — and we’d appreciate your help to make sure everyone sees this. We care for around 13,000 patients, and not everyone follows our page — so if you find this helpful, please consider sharing. It really helps other patients stay informed.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴? From April 2026, appointment reminders will be available via the NHS App rather than being sent automatically by SMS.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗛𝗦 𝗔𝗽𝗽 𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼: View upcoming appointments, Check dates and times anytime, Receive reminders via app notifications, Access other NHS services securely and much more.

𝗧𝗜𝗣: Please make sure notifications are turned ON in the app so you don’t miss reminders.
Open the NHS App > Tap the person icon > Select Notifications > Switch them ON

❓ 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀

𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗜 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀? Yes — when notifications are turned on, the NHS App will remind you of certain items. SMS confirmation messages can still be requested at the time of booking if you need one.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗳 𝗜 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗛𝗦 𝗔𝗽𝗽? That’s okay — our team will continue to help, and appointment cards will also be offered for appointments booked face‑to‑face.

𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗜 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀? No. Your care stays the same — this only changes how reminders are viewed.

⏰ Missed appointments mean longer waits for everyone. In March, 310 appointments were missed — unfortunately, an increase from February. So we would like to say thank you to everyone who attended their appointments and remind others that can't attend, to please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer the slot to another patient who needs it.

Instead of only offering medication, your GP or link worker might recommend things such as:
• Local walking groups
• Gardening clubs
• Art or creative activities
• Support groups
• Hobby classes
• Community programs

1. A link worker spends time getting to know your physical, emotional, and social needs.
2. They suggest activities or support services tailored to you.

Taking care of yourself in early pregnancy makes a real difference for you and your baby. NHS screening tests can help identify certain conditions early on, and they start with a simple blood test before 10 weeks.

Don’t forget to ask about your pregnancy vaccines too — including whooping cough, RSV and the flu vaccine.

Speak to your midwife or GP to find out more and get the care you’re entitled to.
