This national awareness day is all about making sure unpaid carers know their rights and can access the support they need. Whether you’re new to caring or have been supporting someone for years, it’s important to know what help is available to you.

We’re out and about across the borough – come and see us!

🌍 World Diabetes Day reaches a global audience of over 1 billion people in over 160 countries as the occasion raises awareness and takes action to help spread the word about diabetes and well-being.

📢 1 week to go! Carers’ Rights Day – Thursday 20 November 2025

This year’s theme is “Know your rights, use your rights.”

Carers’ Rights Day is all about raising awareness of the rights unpaid carers are entitled to and helping them get the support and recognition they deserve.

✅ As a carer, you have key rights to ensure you receive the support and protection you need. These include:

1️⃣ The right to unpaid Carer’s Leave
2️⃣ The right to request flexible working
3️⃣ The right to ask your GP practice to identify you as a carer
4️⃣ The right (and choice) to request a free flu jab
5️⃣ Protection against discrimination and harassment
6️⃣ The right to request a Carers’ Assessment
7️⃣ The right to be consulted when the person you care for is discharged from hospital

This year's theme is "Know your rights, use your rights"

❤️ Carers' Rights Day is all about making sure informal carers get support, recognition and protection they deserve, from flexible working and free flu jabs to being included when your loved one leaves hospital.

🍰 Come and chat with the Stockton-on-Tees Adult Carers' Support Service on the day, they will be out and about with tea, coffee and cakes while sharing information on carers' rights and local support.
