In the late 1990's Lee Skelton 'served his time' under the guidance of Pete Chapman at Au Temps Perdu. A keen interest in reclaimed materials was retained to the point Teesside Architectural was formed. Teesside Architectural Salvage (TAS) supply reclaimed building materials and internal fixtures and fittings.

A couple more fires stripped and restored on-site. A large decorative Victorian cast iron combination grate, and a lovely little Victorian cast iron range surround. Both for sale and now ready for a new home 🔥(there’s plenty of other fires at the yard awaiting restoration)

A quick turnaround on this pair of Victorian cast iron fire surrounds salvaged a couple of weeks ago. Both available for sale. Now that I have a stripping tank on-site I should be able to restore a lot more fires if I aren’t out and about salvaging 👍🏻 🔥

The first cast iron bedroom grate stripped ‘in-house’, salvaged recently from a house on Milner Rd in Norton. Sadly over time various stripping places have closed down locally, so unfortunately for me I’ll have to do it myself. Hopefully we’ll be offering a door stripping service soon as well. We can also possibly offer fireplace restoration services, removing fires, stripping and refinishing.

I also received a call this morning, went to site and ended up buying some lovely oak chairs, no idea on age, but they’re really well constructed 👍🏻

A cracking restoration job from my mate Dave, and Joe..A superb oak table just under 12ft in length so it’s a big’un, underside height raised to accommodate modern chairs. It’s going to take a big house, or hospitality to accommodate this beauty

A couple of Victorian fire surrounds ready for a new home. An elegant cast iron surround, and a marbleised slate surround. There’s numerous other surrounds at the yard awaiting restoration from cast iron, marble, slate, wood and stone 🔥

A couple of wonderful oak shop counters, and an item which will resonate with many people from the Middlesbrough area, the former ‘Sammy’s Club’ brass sign from 1905

That’s a bonny one cast by the famous Carron Company in Falkirk. Originally a bedroom grate with over mantle mirror, but it’s large enough to be used within downstairs rooms 🔥

Out and about this week salvaging two wonderful stone offertory boxes from St Cuthbert’s Church in Darlington. Yesterday up to Muggleswick to salvage a couple of cast fires, didn’t expect the tyre blow out in the sticks so thanks to Haycock Tyre Services for coming to the rescue once again 👏🏻

I salvaged these oak fronted lockers before Christmas from a former prep school in North Yorks.. These are ideal for hallways, boot rooms, even for reuse in a kitchen possibly.. There’s a fair few available

A few bits salvaged before Christmas including a huge safe by Perry’s of Bilston Est 1806 with working keys including the internal drawer

Cast iron and steel industrial shelving unit manufactured by W.Lucy & Co, Oxford from the 1890’s onwards. Salvaged from the former Kelly’s Bakery site in Annfield Plain a couple of years ago prior to demolition. We finally had a go at assembly yesterday 👍🏻

1960’s cast bronze Royal Coat of Arms from the former Bishop Auckland Magistrates and County Court..I bet a few wrong’uns, and even some wrongly convicted went through them doors over the years..
