In the late 1990's Lee Skelton 'served his time' under the guidance of Pete Chapman at Au Temps Perdu. A keen interest in reclaimed materials was retained to the point Teesside Architectural was formed. Teesside Architectural Salvage (TAS) supply reclaimed building materials and internal fixtures and fittings.

Antique lead working from 1721. Purchased from a local care home yesterday. Rumoured to originate from Allerton Castle in North Yorks, which coincidentally originally opened in 1721. Teesdale was once heavily mined for lead, and the local craftsmen renowned for their skill as shown in the piece we salvaged..

The first cast iron bedroom grate stripped ‘in-house’, salvaged recently from a house on Milner Rd in Norton. Sadly over time various stripping places have closed down locally, so unfortunately for me I’ll have to do it myself. Hopefully we’ll be offering a door stripping service soon as well. We can also possibly offer fireplace restoration services, removing fires, stripping and refinishing.

I also received a call this morning, went to site and ended up buying some lovely oak chairs, no idea on age, but they’re really well constructed 👍🏻
