Death is something that will happen to all of us and yet, we rarely talk about it.
I work hard to normalise death and dying but, it can feel frightening, unfair, overwhelming… or quietly present in the background of our lives.
Whether you’re living with a life-limiting diagnosis, supporting someone you love, or carrying grief that feels too heavy for words - you’re not strange for thinking about death. You’re human.
Talking about it won’t make it happen and I know how painful it can feel.

If you need a space where these conversations are welcomed and not avoided, I’m here.

If you would like to get in touch and explore your thoughts or fears, please see the links in my bio☝🏻.

Sometimes anxiety makes even a small set of steps feel like a mountain.
Your legs are fine.
Your strength is there.
It’s your nervous system saying, “This feels like too much.”
If anxiety is making you feel like this, pause and take a breath.
One step at a time, no rush, less pressure.
And if the steps keep feeling impossible, don't be afraid to ask for help. Counselling can help the steps to feel more manageable.

Please use any of the links in my bio to get in touch or you can contact me directly 👇🏻

🌱Are you feeling stuck with the same thoughts, the same heaviness, the same questions?
🪣Imagine your brain is a bucket of water - is it overflowing?
🌪️Sometimes we just need a space to pause, to gently untangle our thoughts and feelings and to try and empty the bucket so it's more manageable.
💡You don’t have to have it all figured out before reaching out. If this sounds like it might be you you’re welcome to get in touch. We can take it one step at a time, at a pace that feels right for you.

The waves aren’t wrong. I think they are doing what they're supposed to.
They aren’t something to fix. It's how they are meant to be.
From the shore, they might look chaotic and unpredictable. I see power and strength, responding to wind, to pressure, to forces beneath the surface.
Neurodivergence can feel like that.
A nervous system that notices, feels and processes more. A response to the world which can be totally overwhelming.
I hold neurodivergence close to my heart.
Not as something to quiet or contain -
but as something to understand.
Because when we honour the currents instead of fighting them, there is less shame.
More compassion and space to breathe.

If you would like to discuss what life looks like for you and how you navigate your wild stormy sea, just like the sea at Sandsend today, your more than welcome to get in touch via any link in my bio

Chronic pain can deeply affect not just your body, but your sense of self. How, without a moment's notice, it can take over your life.
Chronic pain can impact your energy, sleep, mood, and daily life, causing:
Ongoing pain
Difficulty concentrating
Sensitivity to light, sound, or touch.
Over time, it can begin to shape how you see yourself.
What you can do......
How much energy you have......
Who you are allowed to be.....
The exhaustion isn’t just physical.
It’s emotional too — the constant adjusting, the explaining, the pain that nobody sees, the grief for the parts of you that feel harder to reach now. Pain often causes stress and anxiety, which can make the pain worse.

If any of this resonates with you, I'm here with gentle understanding, in a calm and supportive space, navigating your responses to pain.
You are welcome to get in touch via any of the links in my bio☝🏻.

Isn't it amazing when you discover you can achieve something! Not that I have the first idea of what I'm doing (with marketing and social media), but I'm taking small tentative steps into the unknown. Counsellors are great at encouraging small steps, but maybe not so great at doing it ourselves 🤦🏻‍♀️.
Have you been brave lately?
Starting therapy can be a brave step into the unknown and a scary one too, but I'm here to help you feel safe and at ease.

You can use any of the links above to get in touch ☝🏻

I could watch the waves for ages, they seem to speak to my soul and they look so effortless arriving on the shoreline.
But we don't see the strong tidal pulls, stirring deep within the sea itself that gets one single wave to shore.
I felt a bit like the sea yesterday, seemingly calm and steady, whilst being pulled frantically underneath.
Yesterday made me realise that there is more to being a counsellor, it's about being a social media wizz, a graphic designer, a business woman all way more than I learnt at university!
Thankfully I have some fabulous friends who calm my stormy sea, and also guide me through things I have no idea about. Who knew I needed a brand kit!!
The amazing used her design skills yesterday and worked her magic ✨ and I am so grateful.
Do you have someone who can see beyond the calm?
Let's explore together, the strong stirring moments that maybe others don't see.

I have counselling profiles that you can look at which tell you a little more about me and are available through the links in my bio☝🏻

I learned something about myself on Saturday.
The last time I walked along the wooden pier at Whitby, I felt so anxious seeing the sea through the slats beneath my feet. It felt overwhelming and frightening, my whole body shaking uncontrollably.
This weekend, I did it again. I held onto the railings the whole way there and back - but I did it! It felt like such an achievement and reminded me that bravery isn’t about not feeling afraid. It’s about showing up anyway, taking small, shaky steps and trusting yourself enough to keep going, even if it is painful.
Sometimes bravery is quiet. Sometimes it’s holding on and carrying on, and sometimes, that’s more than enough.
If something in this resonates with you, and you’re carrying your own fears or challenges, you don’t have to face them alone.

If you would like to navigate your fears with me you can get in touch via the links in my bio ☝🏻or directly below👇🏻

People often tell me they’re nervous before reaching out.
They worry they won’t know what to say, or that they’ll be expected to open up before they’re ready.
In our work together, there’s no pressure to explain things neatly.
We go at your pace where you are met with warmth, care, and acceptance - just as you are.
I am Calm, human, and genuinely interested in you.
If you’ve been wondering whether counselling might help, you don’t have to decide anything yet.
A first message can simply be a conversation.

On the outside, it can look like you’re managing.
You get through the day. You do what needs doing.
Others might even tell you how strong you are.
But inside, something feels heavy.
Maybe you’re tired in a way rest doesn’t fix.
Maybe grief, worry, or emotional pain keeps showing up when things go quiet.
You don’t have to be at breaking point to reach out.
And you don’t have to carry this on your own.
If any of this resonates, you’re welcome to get in touch.

If you’re someone who feels anxious about taking the first step to therapy, I want you to know this gently — how I am here is how I am in real life, honest and genuine.

I’m warm and I care deeply, I aim to meet people with openness and acceptance - without judgement and without trying to change who you are. The space I offer in counselling is safe and confidential but most of all human.

I don't expect you to know what to say, explain yourself perfectly, or have everything worked out. In fact if we sat in silence for a while, that would be ok too.

That first message doesn’t need to be big or brave. It can be short, hesitant, even unsure. We can take things slowly, at your pace, and you stay in control of what you share.

If something in you is wondering whether support might help - give it a try.
