I've found that when you slow down the world around you, it enables you to appreciate it more. The canal is great for this and our trip allowed me to relax and unwind.

But it got me thinking... What do you do that truly relaxes you? Where you can leave behind what's worrying you or filling your thoughts constantly? Do you ever get the opportunity to sit and talk through them out loud?

If this is you and you want to actually be able to sit and say with no judgement or expectation, what's worrying you, then counselling might be helpful.

I'm someone who will sit with you, who is warm and calm, who won't judge or assume and who will allow you a safe space to speak freely.

Did you know that I am interested in these particular areas
Chronic pain
Cancer including terminal diagnoses
Carers
MS
Autism and ADHD.
Death and dying

These are the areas I work with frequently and have such a passion for them. I find working with bereavement and palliative care so fulfilling and rewarding it's certainly an area I love.

Of course I will happily explore many other issues that are brought into the counselling room but I'm embedded in death and dying with an absolute passion for it.

If you feel you would like to reach out to discuss any worries that you may be struggling with right now (and I totally get that's a hard thing to do) please either use the links in the bio on my page or

Counsellors are brilliant at educating clients about self-care but maybe not so great at doing it ourselves.
So, I shall be on the canal 🥰 for a week to feed my soul with nature, water, working the locks and travelling the cut.
I hope you have a calm Easter.

Counselling can help you find order in the chaos and helps you to step back and see things in a different way. I spend time empowering clients and maybe I can help you with that too?

Once I'm back I'll be right back at it so feel free to get in touch via any of the links in my bio☝🏻

Are you feeling stuck right now?

Like your emotions are too much or maybe you are feeling numb.
Are you just getting through the day, not really living it.
Maybe the nights feel the hardest, when everything catches up with you.

Counselling can help you find a way through the overwhelm.
It can bring a sense of relief, help you make sense of what you’re feeling, and gently bring back a sense of hope.

I see people come to me feeling lost and exhausted.
And over time, that weight begins to lift.
Life feels more manageable.
Sleep becomes easier.
There’s space to breathe again.

If you’re struggling, you can reach out to me.
We can take it one step at a time.

🌱Where's your happy place? You know, the one place that you leave the world behind. This is mine. The canal is so peaceful and beautiful, the slowness calms my soul 😌.
If your life feels chaotic, counselling with me can provide a calming experience, just like I feel when travelling the canals.

I've seen a few negative articles recently about what bad counselling looks like, but they never tell you about the good.
My clients would say they feel like they've been supported through very tough times, how working together has allowed them to remember who they are. That they've realised they are not their diagnosis and that there is life past a very tough and painful loss.

Death is something that will happen to all of us and yet, we rarely talk about it.
I work hard to normalise death and dying but, it can feel frightening, unfair, overwhelming… or quietly present in the background of our lives.
Whether you’re living with a life-limiting diagnosis, supporting someone you love, or carrying grief that feels too heavy for words - you’re not strange for thinking about death. You’re human.
Talking about it won’t make it happen and I know how painful it can feel.

If you need a space where these conversations are welcomed and not avoided, I’m here.

If you would like to get in touch and explore your thoughts or fears, please see the links in my bio☝🏻.

Sometimes anxiety makes even a small set of steps feel like a mountain.
Your legs are fine.
Your strength is there.
It’s your nervous system saying, “This feels like too much.”
If anxiety is making you feel like this, pause and take a breath.
One step at a time, no rush, less pressure.
And if the steps keep feeling impossible, don't be afraid to ask for help. Counselling can help the steps to feel more manageable.

🌱Are you feeling stuck with the same thoughts, the same heaviness, the same questions?
🪣Imagine your brain is a bucket of water - is it overflowing?
🌪️Sometimes we just need a space to pause, to gently untangle our thoughts and feelings and to try and empty the bucket so it's more manageable.
💡You don’t have to have it all figured out before reaching out. If this sounds like it might be you you’re welcome to get in touch. We can take it one step at a time, at a pace that feels right for you.

The waves aren’t wrong. I think they are doing what they're supposed to.
They aren’t something to fix. It's how they are meant to be.
From the shore, they might look chaotic and unpredictable. I see power and strength, responding to wind, to pressure, to forces beneath the surface.
Neurodivergence can feel like that.
A nervous system that notices, feels and processes more. A response to the world which can be totally overwhelming.
I hold neurodivergence close to my heart.
Not as something to quiet or contain -
but as something to understand.
Because when we honour the currents instead of fighting them, there is less shame.
More compassion and space to breathe.

Chronic pain can deeply affect not just your body, but your sense of self. How, without a moment's notice, it can take over your life.
Chronic pain can impact your energy, sleep, mood, and daily life, causing:
Ongoing pain
Difficulty concentrating
Sensitivity to light, sound, or touch.
Over time, it can begin to shape how you see yourself.
What you can do......
How much energy you have......
Who you are allowed to be.....
The exhaustion isn’t just physical.
It’s emotional too — the constant adjusting, the explaining, the pain that nobody sees, the grief for the parts of you that feel harder to reach now. Pain often causes stress and anxiety, which can make the pain worse.

If any of this resonates with you, I'm here with gentle understanding, in a calm and supportive space, navigating your responses to pain.

Isn't it amazing when you discover you can achieve something! Not that I have the first idea of what I'm doing (with marketing and social media), but I'm taking small tentative steps into the unknown. Counsellors are great at encouraging small steps, but maybe not so great at doing it ourselves 🤦🏻‍♀️.
Have you been brave lately?
Starting therapy can be a brave step into the unknown and a scary one too, but I'm here to help you feel safe and at ease.

You can use any of the links above to get in touch ☝🏻

I could watch the waves for ages, they seem to speak to my soul and they look so effortless arriving on the shoreline.
But we don't see the strong tidal pulls, stirring deep within the sea itself that gets one single wave to shore.
I felt a bit like the sea yesterday, seemingly calm and steady, whilst being pulled frantically underneath.
Yesterday made me realise that there is more to being a counsellor, it's about being a social media wizz, a graphic designer, a business woman all way more than I learnt at university!
Thankfully I have some fabulous friends who calm my stormy sea, and also guide me through things I have no idea about. Who knew I needed a brand kit!!
The amazing used her design skills yesterday and worked her magic ✨ and I am so grateful.
Do you have someone who can see beyond the calm?
Let's explore together, the strong stirring moments that maybe others don't see.

I have counselling profiles that you can look at which tell you a little more about me and are available through the links in my bio☝🏻

I learned something about myself on Saturday.
The last time I walked along the wooden pier at Whitby, I felt so anxious seeing the sea through the slats beneath my feet. It felt overwhelming and frightening, my whole body shaking uncontrollably.
This weekend, I did it again. I held onto the railings the whole way there and back - but I did it! It felt like such an achievement and reminded me that bravery isn’t about not feeling afraid. It’s about showing up anyway, taking small, shaky steps and trusting yourself enough to keep going, even if it is painful.
Sometimes bravery is quiet. Sometimes it’s holding on and carrying on, and sometimes, that’s more than enough.
If something in this resonates with you, and you’re carrying your own fears or challenges, you don’t have to face them alone.

If you would like to navigate your fears with me you can get in touch via the links in my bio ☝🏻or directly below👇🏻
