This week is Cervical Cancer Prevention Week (19โ25 January 2026), reminding us how important HPV vaccination and regular cervical screening (smear tests) are in preventing cervical cancer.
HPV vaccine protects against the virus causing most cervical cancers.
Cervical screening checks for HPV and abnormal cells, saving around 5,000 lives a year in the UK.
All women aged 25 to 64 are invited for cervical screening every 5 years. Everyone with a cervix should go for cervical screening.
Please attend your screening when invited. ๐
