I am happy to announce that I am now qualified to use medical acupuncture in my treatment sessions! 🥳

Medical acupuncture or dry needling is a common modality of treatment used by physiotherapists to help speed up the recovery of injured muscles or tendons, but it can also be offered as a form of pain relief!

A common disease I see day to day is Osgoods, or growing pains!!📏

Osgood-Schlatters is a common cause of knee pain in growing children. It causes inflammation just below the knee where the tendon from the kneecap attaches to the shin. 🦴

It often occurs during growth spurts (aka growing pains), when bones, muscles, tendons, and other structures are changing at a faster pace 💪🏽

Because physical activity puts additional stress on structures around the knee, children who participate in sports are at an increased risk for this condition. ⚽️🎾🏉
However, less active individuals may also experience this problem. 👦🏼👧🏾

Physiotherapists will help to create an individualised plan for your child to help reduce the pain and swelling 👍🏽

Thought I’d upgrade my socials since it’s been 2 months since finishing uni and being a qualified Physiotherapist!

Since graduating from Keele with a Masters Degree in Physiotherapy i have been working at Cole’s Injury and Rehab clinic in Hanford 🏠 and and PortVale football club ⚽️
As I’m getting busier I am soon offering more treatments in the near future, such as acupuncture and shockwave therapy 🦴🩻💪🏽
When I’m not in the clinic or the football club, I will most likely be with Bailey (my sausage dog and therapy assistant 😉) on a big walk! In my spare time I also like to travel, eat amazingg food and play netball ✈️🥗🏐

and just like that my last placement is over… 5 years of uni has definitely killed me off but what a lovely way to end my final placement, getting the chance work alongside my mum on the hyper acute stroke ward 😇👭
2 more final exams and then the student life is over and the adult life begins! 🏡
