The practice records incoming telephone calls into the practice and may record outgoing calls. The purpose of call recording is for training and monitoring purposes. This includes the provision of a record of incoming and outgoing calls which can:
• Identify practice staff training needs
• Protect practice staff from nuisance or abusive calls
• Establish facts relating to incoming/outgoing calls made (e.g. complaints)
• identify any issues in practice processes with a view to improving them (e.g. to aid workforce planning)
The practice will make every reasonable effort to advise callers that their call may be recorded and for what purpose the recording may be used. This will normally be via a pre-recorded message within the telephone system and via signage at the practice. The voice file will be stored within the telephone recording system software to which the same rules of confidentiality will apply. The practice’s data protection registration covers voice files similarly to other data. A plea from all clinicians and staff, if you are unhappy with our service, please contact us and talk to us rather than putting comments on social media – if you don’t tell us directly, we can’t put things right. Please remember that the surgery staff have all been experiencing the same emotions as you, as a patient, during the pandemic, please treat them with respect, they are here to help you. Thank you

Norovirus is a stomach bug that causes diarrhoea and vomiting.
The average number of patients in hospital with norovirus each day last week rose to over 1,000 for the first time this winter.

It can spread very easily, but washing your hands frequently with soap and water is the best way to stop it spreading.

If you catch it, stay at home until two days after the symptoms stop. Don’t visit hospitals or care homes during this time.

March is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.

It’s important to know the signs and symptoms – especially as risk increases with age. Most cases develop in men aged 50 or older and prostate cancer is more common in Black men.
Prostate cancer often develops slowly, so there may be no symptoms for many years.

Early diagnosis and treatment can save lives. Contact your GP if you notice any changes in your body or something doesn’t feel right.

With effect from 1st April 2026 there will be the following changes at the Practice due to funding reductions from the NHS:

• We will no longer send text message reminders about upcoming appointments. We plan to start sending reminders via email instead, three days prior to the appointment.

• We will minimise the number of text messages we send to patients and instead use email to contact you with non-sensitive information. We have been gathering email addresses over the past few weeks and updating patient records. If you haven’t already provided your email address and you are happy for us to contact you this way, please call in with your details or provide these at your next appointment

Thank you

Would patients who are also parents of children at the Primary School please remember that only the bottom car park is available for children drop-off and pick-up. The top car park is for patients attending the Practice and currently parents parking here are making it difficult for people who are poorly and who need to access the Practice.
