Today is World Diabetes Day. Podiatrists play an important role in the care of people with diabetes and pre-diabetes. We perform lower limb health checks including vascular and neurological status and actively work to identify risks, support health improvement, prevent deterioration and harm, and to save limbs and lives. We also review foot and lower limb biomechanics and intervene to reduce and prevent pain and pressure. Corn removal and callus reduction, removal and prevention of painful ingrowing nails and more. World Diabetes Day is on 14 November 2024.
