Well, the weather wasn't great this morning but there was a warm welcome at Temple Street Methodist Church this morning for our Places of Welcome UK Community Lounge.
Our Community Cafe was bustling, serving free tea, coffee, and toast to visitors who had come to meet friends old and new, and those who had come to see our advisers.
We were pleased to welcome Fenton pharmacy this morning, who were on hand to provide blood pressure checks and to hand out eye care goodie bags.
Hannah from the The Potters Bank was there telling people about an alternative to loans and savings in the form of a Credit Union.
Saltbox Money Matters were helping people with debt and benefit advice, and Caroline was on hand for anyone looking for employment advice.
Stoke CDAS The Community Drug & Alcohol Service were available to give out advice and Julie LocalityConnector from the Stoke-on-Trent City Council was busy throughout.
The Foodbank and the Clothes Bank were also open as usual, the The Chatty Cafe Chat & Natter Tables and Christine was on hand for anyone who had a prayer request.
A big thank you to all of our volunteers for making it all happen, not just this Thursday but every Thursday.

It's Heart Awareness month and we're delighted to be joined by our friends from Fenton pharmacy , who will be carrying out free blood pressure checks at our Places of Welcome Community Lounge this Thursday 5th February from 10am to 12noon at Temple Street Methodist Church. Welcome in the Lunar New Year of the Horse with traditional music and dance including Dragon and Lion dance performances on Sunday 22 Feb. Other activities include Chinese craft workshops, firecrackers, Kung Fu, Mask Changing, circus skills workshops, acrobatics and much more. Due to building works at the museum this year the event will be located in our Spitfire Gallery, Smithfield, Hanley Library and the Mitchell Arts Centre. Free, 11am - 4pm.
