Seriously though…. In yoga we’re always learning how to let go, how to soften, how to exhale, how to release what doesn’t belong.

And that doesn’t just happen on the mat.

It’s the people, patterns, and situations that make you question your worth or shrink your energy.

I want you to remember this:

✨You are allowed to outgrow what drains you.
✨You don’t need to keep showing up for things that make you feel small.
✨Setting boundaries and saying no is healthy.

And honestly — that’s not harsh, that’s healing.

Every time you choose yourself, you’re practicing yoga in its truest form, returning to balance, to breath, to self.

So keep releasing.
Keep realigning.
Keep coming home to you. 🤍

You know… those moments when your teacher says ‘knit your low ribs together’ and you’re like, what ribs?

We’re diving into the cues you hear all the time — what they mean, why we use them, and how they can transform your practice.

“Push the mat away.” You’ve probably heard this cue a hundred times in class — especially in plank, table top, down dog, or arm balances. But what does it actually mean?

When we say push the mat away, we’re talking about scapular protraction — the action of spreading your shoulder blades wide across your back.

Imagine the space between your shoulder blades broadening as you press your hands firmly into the floor.

This subtle shift awakens one of your most underrated muscles: the serratus anterior. It wraps around your rib cage like a pair of wings and plays a huge role in stabilizing your shoulders and protecting your joints.

Without it, your shoulders tend to “sink” collapsing toward your ears or letting the chest drop. That collapse can create strain and instability over time.

But when you push the mat away, you build integrity through your upper body, support your neck, and create a foundation of strength for everything from Down Dog to Handstand.

So next time you’re on your mat, don’t just push with your hands — push from your back.

Feel your shoulder blades glide apart, your core engage, and your energy lift.

Without question electrolytes are the one thing I ALWAYS recommend including in your wellness routine… I am always amazed at the difference after I’ve taken some.
