𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴.

Before you eat, ask yourself one thing:

“Am I physically hungry — or am I feeding a feeling?”

That’s it. No judgement either way. Just the question.

Physical hunger builds gradually, can be satisfied by various foods, and stops when you’re full.

Emotional hunger arrives suddenly, demands something specific, and doesn’t stop when your stomach is full.

You don’t need to change anything yet. Just start noticing.

Awareness is the first step.

Once you can see the pattern, you’re already halfway to changing it.

Try this for the next 48 hours and tell me what you notice.

𝗔 𝟲𝟬-𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗿𝘂𝗽𝘁 𝗮 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴.

Next time a craving hits, try this before you reach for the food or that treat:

1. Imagine that feeling is a small pebble in your hand.

2. Picture placing that pebble on a wide, expansive beach among thousands of others.

3. Now zoom your view out seeing the beach as part of an island.

4. Zoom out further. See the island in an ocean.

5. Zoom out even further. See the ocean and that island from space.

6. Try and reconnect with that feeling. Notice how you feel now.

Most people find the intensity drops noticeably.

This technique creates psychological distance from the craving without trying to fight it.

By zooming out through increasingly larger scales, you naturally dissociate from the intensity of the moment.

The craving doesn't disappear – it simply becomes one small thing among many, rather than the only thing.

The shift in perspective often brings an immediate sense of relief and proportion.

It won’t solve everything. But it buys you a pause. And in that pause, you get to choose.

Try it next time that craving hits. What's to lose?

If the result makes you curious, get in touch and we can chat.

No pressure, no obligation. Promise.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗜 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆.

Before I became a clinical hypnotherapist, I spent over 30 years in education including roles as Deputy Headteacher and Headteacher.

I mention this because it shaped everything about what I do now and how I do it.

I understand pressure.

I understand what it’s like to give everything to a role and have nothing left for yourself.

I understand the staffroom biscuit tin, the end-of-week exhaustion, and the guilt that follows.

I also understand that intelligent, capable women (and men) don’t need another person telling them what to eat.

They need someone who understands why they can’t stop.

That’s what 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘄𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱 is built for. Not restriction. Not willpower. Understanding — and then change.

If you’d like to know more, the link is in my bio. Or just comment YES or DM me — no pressure, no sales pitch. Promise.

"𝗜 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲."

That’s what clients say to me most often after working together.

Not “I’m resisting really hard.”

Not “I’m being good this week.”

Just… “I don’t want it anymore.”

The chocolate sits in the cupboard and it doesn’t call to them. The fridge doesn’t pull them in at 9pm. The biscuit tin at work is just… there.

That’s what happens when you change the pattern at its source, rather than trying to override it with willpower.

It’s not about being stronger.

It’s about being free.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗵𝘆𝗽𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻?

Let me clear something up.

Clinical hypnotherapy is nothing like what you’ve seen on television.

Nobody clucks like a chicken. Nobody loses control.

Here’s what actually happens:
✔️ You remain completely aware the entire time
✔️ It feels like deep relaxation — similar to just before sleep
✔️ You can’t be made to do anything against your will
✔️ Your unconscious mind becomes more receptive to change
✔️ We identify the patterns driving your behaviour
✔️ We update those patterns at their source

It’s not magic. It’s neuroscience applied with care.

Most clients say: “I just don’t want it anymore” — rather than “I’m trying so hard to resist.”

That’s the difference between surface-level change and root-level change.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀.

If you've spent years fighting with yourself around food, you're not alone. There are four common patterns:

🛡️ The Protector
“Food keeps me safe from feeling too much.”

🧡 The Comforter
“Food is my reward for surviving another day.”

✊ The Rebel
“You can’t tell me what to do — not even you.”

👻 The Hider
“If I stay invisible, I stay safe.”

They’re not weaknesses. They’re automated protection patterns your unconcious mind created, usually a long time ago.

Which one resonates most with you? Drop it below. I really do read every comment.

𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿. 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆.

Willpower is a finite resource. Research shows it depletes through the day just like a battery.

Every decision you make uses willpower up:
• Staying calm in traffic
• Not saying what you’re thinking to that colleague
• Managing someone else’s emotions
• Making 47 decisions before lunch

By 4pm, there’s nothing left.

So when the diet plan says “just resist” at the end of the day — it’s asking you to use a resource you’ve already spent.

Evening eating isn’t a character flaw. It’s a depleted tank.

That’s why 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘄𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱 doesn’t rely on willpower at all. Different approach. Different results.

𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗻. 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲.

Every habit you have — good or bad — was learned.

At some point, eating when stressed made sense. It soothed you. It gave you a moment of comfort in a difficult time. Your brain filed it as: “This works. Do this again.”

And it kept running that programme. Every evening. Every stressful day. Every time you needed something — anything — just for yourself.

The programme isn’t faulty. It’s just outdated.

You wouldn’t run Windows 95 on a new laptop. But that’s essentially what your brain is doing with food.

Time for an update?

What’s one habit you know is outdated but can’t seem to shift? I’d love to hear.

𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻...

Which of these sounds most like you?

A) I’m fine all day, then eat everything after 8pm
B) I eat when I’m stressed because it’s the only thing that helps
C) I start every Monday motivated, then it falls apart by Wednesday
D) I don’t even want or enjoy the food but I just can’t seem to stop

Drop your letter below. No judgement. Just curious.

(And if you’re thinking “all of them”, you’re definitely not alone.)

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝟰𝗽𝗺 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗹.

You held it together through back-to-back meetings. You smiled through the difficult conversation. You ate the salad at lunch.

Then 4pm arrives.

And suddenly the brought-in birthday treats or the biscuit tin is the only thing that makes sense.

It’s not greed. It’s not weakness. Your brain is running on empty and it’s reaching for the fastest fuel it knows.

The good news? That pattern made sense once. It just stopped working for you.

What’s your 4pm moment? Tell me in the comments. You won't be alone.

And it works… for a while. Then something shifts. A hard day. A deadline. A week that drains everything out of you.

And suddenly you’re standing at the fridge at 9pm, eating something you don’t even want, watching yourself do it.

It’s not a knowledge problem.

It’s not a willpower problem.

It’s a pattern. And patterns can be changed.

If that landed — you’re not alone. Drop a ❤️ below.
