City Chiropractic Clinic At City Chiropractic Clinic, we pride ourselves on being outstanding providers for the treatment of Suffering with a bad back/neck? Discover Chiropractic !

What is Chiropractic? Chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, and the effects of these disorders on general health. Chiropractors are specialists in assessing and restoring joint function. Chiropractic care is used most often to treat neuro-musculo-skeletal complaints, including but not limited to back pain, neck pain

, arms or legs pain, and headaches. The chiropractic profession has been established for over 100 years and is practised in more than 100 countries worldwide. Doctors of Chiropractic – often referred to as chiropractors or chiropractic physicians – practice a drug-free, hands-on approach to health care that includes patient examination, diagnosis and treatment. Chiropractors have broad diagnostic skills and are also trained to recommend therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises, as well as to provide nutritional, dietary and lifestyle counselling. The most common therapeutic procedure performed by doctors of chiropractic is known as “spinal manipulation”, also called “chiropractic adjustment.” The purpose of manipulation is to restore joint mobility by manually applying a controlled force into joints that have become hypomobile – or restricted in their movement – as a result of a tissue injury. Tissue injury can be caused by a single traumatic event, such as improper lifting of a heavy object, or through repetitive stresses, such as sitting in an awkward position with poor spinal posture for an extended period of time. In either case, injured tissues undergo physical and chemical changes that can cause inflammation, pain, and diminished function for the sufferer. Manipulation, or adjustment of the affected joint and tissues, restores mobility, thereby alleviating pain and muscle tightness, and allowing tissues to heal. In many cases, such as lower back pain, chiropractic care may be the primary method of treatment. When other medical conditions exist, chiropractic care may complement or support medical treatment by relieving the musculoskeletal aspects associated with the condition. Doctors of chiropractic may assess patients through clinical examination, laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging and other diagnostic interventions to determine when chiropractic treatment is appropriate or when it is not appropriate. Chiropractors will readily refer patients to the appropriate health care provider when chiropractic care is not suitable for the patient’s condition, or the condition warrants co-management in conjunction with other members of the health care team. What do we treat? At City Chiropractic we treat a range of conditions that affect the head, neck, back, shoulders, arms, and legs. We feel it is important to look for the root cause of the problem as opposed to masking the symptoms e.g. pain, pins and needles, and numbness are often felt in a different area to where the problem is. There are a lot of reasons why problems occur. Here is a list of the major causes:

- Macro trauma - a major incident such as a road traffic accident causing whiplash associated disorders.
- Micro trauma - multiple minor incidents that cumulate over an extended period such as poor postures when using the computer at work causing a painful neck.
- Poor posture - posture affects and moderates every physiologic function from breathing to hormonal production. Spinal pain, headache, mood, blood pressure, pulse and lung capacity are among the functions most easily influenced by posture. We treat these problems using chiropractic techniques as well as others that are derived from physiotherapy and sports massage. This gives us a diverse range of techniques to treat conditions that affect the muscles, ligaments, joints, and/or nerves.

🪴Looking after your body isn’t that different from looking after your plants 🌱

🌱A little trim here…
💚Some regular care and attention…
🌞The right conditions to support growth…

And before you know it, everything starts to feel better again.

We were sorting out the plants in the clinic this weekend and it got us thinking—most people leave things until they’re stiff, tight, or just not quite right before doing anything about it.

Your body works exactly the same way.

👌A few small check-ins and the right support at the right time can make a huge difference.👌

Don’t wait until things build up—start taking care of your body now 🌿💚

👎 Your spine might be older than you are… 👀

Most people think back pain is just part of getting older—but that’s not the full story.

We’ve seen 30-year-olds with “80-year-old” spines… and 80-year-olds moving brilliantly.

💡It’s not your age—it’s your mileage.
Your discs are like cushions. Over time, without the right care, they dry out, compress, and don’t bounce back the same way.

The problem?
You often don’t feel it happening.
Waiting for pain is like waiting for your engine to blow before checking the oil.

If you're in Stoke-on-Trent or Newcastle-under-Lyme and your back isn’t feeling quite right, this is your sign to take action.

Watch the video below ⬇️

Move more. Stay strong. Get checked. 🌿

Most people think a bad shoulder just needs rest.
But sometimes that can actually make things worse. 😟

When Bob came to see us, he had a painful shoulder that was seriously limiting his movement.

But there was more to consider.

Bob also lives with lymphoedema and COPD, so his rehab had to be carefully adapted around breathing, circulation and swelling.

So we took a full team approach.

Dr Finn worked on restoring shoulder movement, Chloe supported circulation with lymphatic drainage and sports therapist Andreea introduced personalised rehab exercises.

Then we added this 👇
💡 BlazePod reaction training
🚥 Six lights
🚦When they flash, Bob reacts

It might look simple…
But it trains:
⚡ reaction time
💪 shoulder and hip stability
🧠 coordination
🫁 breathing control
❤️ circulation

And the progress has been amazing.
Bob is now:
✔ Moving better
✔ Reacting faster
✔ Getting stronger
✔ Breathing easier

But the best result?
He’s getting his LIFE back and able to do more again.

If you're struggling with:
• Frozen shoulder
• Shoulder pain
• Chronic pain
• Injury recovery
• Reduced mobility

Our teams at City Chiropractic (Stoke) and Newcastle Chiropractic are here to help.

⚡ Is your neck SCREAMING after this week? Don't ignore it. ⚡

Neck tension, stiffness, headaches — they're not just 'part of life'. They're signals. And the good news? A few targeted stretches can make a huge difference right now.

Try these 3 neck stretches / tips by Andreea:

🙌 1. LEVATOR SCAPULAE STRETCH — Turn your head 45° to one side, tuck your chin toward your chest, hold 15 seconds. Targets that deep tension between your neck and shoulder blade.

🙌 2. NECK ROTATION — Slowly rotate your head left to right, pausing where you feel tightness. 10 reps each direction. Boosts mobility and circulation.

🙌 3. DOORWAY CHEST OPENER — Stand in a doorway, arms at 90°, lean forward gently. This opens up tight pecs that PULL your head forward and create neck strain.

Watch the video for more information.

Sound familiar? Forward head posture is one of the biggest causes of chronic neck pain — and it's completely correctable with the right chiropractic care and sports therapy approach. 💥

At City Chiropractic Clinic in Stoke-on-Trent, our team works with you to identify WHY your neck keeps tensing up — and build a plan that gets you lasting results.

🎓 Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve had the pleasure of attending the careers fairs at Staffordshire University — visiting both the Stafford and Stoke campuses! 🎓

It was brilliant to be among so many incredible organisations, from local employers to voluntary opportunities to travel and work abroad — all coming together to help students find their path.

And of course, we were there flying the flag for Chiropractic! 🙌

It’s a career that so many students haven’t considered — but here’s something that might change that…

There are only around 4,000 registered chiropractors in the entire UK. 🇬🇧 That’s a profession with real opportunity, genuine purpose, and the chance to change lives every single day.

If you were at either fair and want to know more — send a DMs, we’d love to chat! 💚

Thank you Staffordshire Uni for inviting us. 🙏🙏

🎓 We’ve been out and about at Staffordshire University!

Over the past couple of weeks, our team had the pleasure of attending the Careers Fairs across both the Stafford and Stoke-on-Trent campuses — and what a brilliant experience it was!

As a chiropractic and sports therapy clinic right here in Stoke-on-Trent, it felt incredibly fitting to be on home turf, connecting with ambitious students and shining a light on two professions.

🩺 Did you know there are only around 4,000 registered chiropractors in the entire UK? That means genuine career demand, real job security, and a profession regulated by the General Chiropractic Council (GCC).

And sports therapy is one of the fastest-growing allied health professions around — with sports therapists playing a vital role in injury rehabilitation, performance, and keeping people moving at their best.

Both professions make a real, measurable difference to people’s lives every single day — helping with back pain, neck pain, headaches, sciatica, joint pain, and sports injuries across all ages and walks of life.
