Our care staff often spend their supernumerary shifts supporting the activities team — and our residents absolutely love it! It’s a great way for everyone to spend time together, share smiles, and make activities extra special. This week, for example, Olivia joined in with games and Lauren helped out with bingo. We love seeing our team getting involved and making a difference every day! 💫

It's not often that somebody turns 100 - and we think that this is reason to celebrate! We have created Audrey this invite so that she can hand them out to her friends here at Newford and her family far and wide - what do you think? We have special things planned for the day and if staff would like to pop over to celebrate, they are more than welcome to do so 😀

Yesterday we had a surprise visit from Environmental Health, which saw us achieve another FIVE START RATING for our kitchen! Well done to the kitchen team and to Sabina and Michelle who were on duty on the day to showcase the kitchen to the inspector 🥰

***STAFF HIGHLIGHT***
Say hello to our staff nurse, Jenny. Jenny has been with us for many, many years and is our Mental Health Champion, with her being a registered mental health nurse. Jenny is a great listener and is always there for the team. She is confident in leading staff and being a great mentor and advocate. On a side note, Jenny has also just celebrated her 60th birthday so let's send her some big birthday wishes!

Our activities supervisor Claire, is qualified in many things and we may not have enough room to list them all! Claire is able to provide manicures, pedicures, facials, aromatherapy massage, Indian head massage, reflexology and so on! She does so at no charge to our service users and we are extremely grateful that we have talented individuals who work for us and who can utilise their expertise to help towards providing a great package of care for those in our home.
We will be having manicures on this coming Monday 20th October at 3pm.

We played a game this morning where all you need is pens, paper and a dice. Can you guess what it is? The game brought back memories for Margaret as she used to play this when her children were little. Margaret shared her stories and was quite excited to play.
The game is Build a Beetle 😀 has anyone one else ever played this game?

We have a vacancy arise in our kitchen - do you know somebody who would want to work with us at Newford Nursing Home?
Kitchen assistants are there to help our cooks prepare meals for our service users, and to head the kitchen in the afternoons in serving the evening meal.
Shifts will be a mixture of 9:30am-2pm and 2:30pm-7pm and will include some weekend work.

We would like to invite all family members to our Relative Meeting on Tuesday 4th November. There have been many changes going on over the past few months and we would like to take this opportunity to catch up with all families and friends.
As we are close to November, we would like to team up this meeting with an invitation to join us for warm baps for tea, so that we can fill our bellies whilst also filling your brains with information of upcoming events.
