Did you know that Olympus was the first company to develop and deploy a gastrocamera?

In 1949, Dr Tatsuro Uji, from the University of Tokyo Hospital, visited Olympus with the aim of "curing the stomach cancer that afflicts so many Japanese people". His passion was matched by Mustuo Sugiura, an Olympus Engineer, who had a similar thirst for innovation.
The prototype was developed in 1950, and commercialised and launched in 1952.

Ensuring that the endoscopes stay dry and clean can be a big task... relax!

The Scirocco-- an advanced automated drying system created by PFE Medical-- is revolutionizing endoscope drying, significantly reducing infection risks. This innovative technology ensures complete drying of endoscopes' internal channels and external surfaces (and when an endoscope is totally dry , it is safe to store for up to 30 days ) and as its drying process uses AI to determine it is safe, this saves valuable time and resources for healthcare professionals.

By utilizing humidity sensors, the drying process is only finalized when the ideal humidity level is reached, guaranteeing optimal results.
