🌕🍦 A Weekend of Space, Sweets & Time Travel at Agnes and Arthur!

On Saturday, we celebrated 65 years since the moon landing and National Ice Cream Day with fun space-themed arts & crafts and some out-of-this-world treats like ice cream and rocket lollies! 🚀✨

On Sunday, we stepped back in time at Ford Green Hall’s Time Travel event exploring the hall, trying life as a milkmaid, and enjoying a lovely performance by the Glorian England Elizabethan dance group. We wrapped up the day with a well-earned cuppa in the Great Hall! 🫖💫

🍒🐾 A Sweet Start to the Week at Agnes and Arthur!

We’ve had a lovely few days full of outings, treats and smiles!

🛍️ On Monday, one of our gents enjoyed a trip to the shops, while two of our ladies had a delicious lunch and bingo fun at Whitfield Valley Centre. In the afternoon, we celebrated Bastille Day with tasty French treats! 🇫🇷

🐶 On Tuesday, we welcomed Pauline and Sasha from Pets as Therapy, such a heartwarming visit filled with cuddles and lovely memories. Later, residents were treated to a relaxing nail pamper session.

🎨 And on Wednesday, for National Cherry Day, we got creative with arts and crafts and made the most delicious cherry and chocolate biscuits!

☀️🍦 Summer Fun at Agnes and Arthur!

We’ve had a fabulous weekend filled with laughter, sunshine, and sweet treats!

🎉 On Friday, we played a lively game of Guess What I Am and topped it off with a visit from the ice cream man everyone loved a classic 99!

💦 Saturday was all about garden fun – from paddling pools and water fights to fruit pizzas, slushies, and lollies, it was the perfect summer day!

🙏 On Sunday, we relaxed with the Swan Bank church service and peaceful one-to-one chats before cooling off with another dip and some refreshing fruit water.

Here’s what we’ve been up to so far this week at Agnes and Arthur 🎉

Monday
We got moving with some gentle exercises from ASM Sports, then headed out for lunch and three lively games of bingo with a local community group. 🧘‍♀️🍽️🎱

Tuesday
We joined the Big Centenary Tea Party and helped set a new Guinness World Record! 🫖✨
One of our residents also enjoyed a pamper session with a fresh haircut and a little retail therapy. 💇🛍️

Wednesday
Some of our residents attended a community Snack and Chat church meeting, complete with coffee and delicious strawberry cupcakes. ☕🍓🧁

Thursday
A morning of bingo fun with sweet treats for prizes, what better way to spend the day? 🎉🍬

We were honoured to take part in the Guinness World Record Big Centenary Tea Party! 🫖🎉

Our residents enjoyed tea and scones, tested their knowledge with quizzes, learned about the history of Stoke-on-Trent, and even spoke live with BBC Radio Stoke!

What a wonderful week it’s been! 💅💪🎶

On Tuesday, our lovely ladies enjoyed a relaxing pamper day with hair styling, nails, and soothing hand massages, pure bliss! 💖

Wednesday brought energy and smiles with our weekly Work it Wednesday chair-based exercise class, helping to keep arms, legs, and backs moving and strong! 🏋️‍♀️

Thursday was truly special. We welcomed Stuart and Lynne from Emmanuel Church for a beautiful service filled with hymns and prayers, an emotional and uplifting morning. 🙏 And in the afternoon, we kept the joy going with birthday bingo and celebrations for one of our residents who absolutely loves the game! 🎉🎂

What an end to the week at Agnes and Arthur! 💚

👶 Thursday: We welcomed the little stars from Head Start Day Nursery! Games, colouring, and plenty of giggles over tea and biscuits, smiles all around! ☕🎨🧩

🕺 Friday: It was time for our Dirty Dancing themed afternoon tea! Quizzes, fun facts, word searches… and of course, nobody puts Baby in a corner! 💃📝🍰

🎉 Saturday: Eyes down for our big Bingo Event! Three exciting games, tasty cake, and brilliant prizes. What a way to wrap up the week! 🎁🍰🔢

It was a lovely start to the week at Agnes and Arthur 💖🐾🌿💅

👚 On Monday, staff and residents dressed in pink to raise funds for our upcoming Summer Fayre – more details coming soon!

🐶 On Tuesday, we welcomed Pauline and her furry friend Sasha from Pets As Therapy. Their visits always bring back cherished memories and brighten everyone’s day. We can’t wait to see them again in August!

🌿 Later on Tuesday, we enjoyed a peaceful trip to Ford Green Nature Reserve, taking in the local wildlife and scenery – such a relaxing afternoon.

💇‍♀️ On Wednesday, it was all about pampering! Our residents were treated to fresh haircuts by our lovely mobile hairdresser Emma, along with soothing hand massages and nail treatments. A midweek treat indeed!

🎉 The second half of Care Home Open Week at Agnes and Arthur was packed with fun, fundraising, and fantastic memories!

🌼 On Wednesday, we soaked up the sun with a garden picnic before getting pampered by our lovely mobile hairdresser, Emma.
☕ Thursday was all about community and charity. Thank you to everyone who joined our coffee morning and afternoon tea for Dementia UK. Together, we raised an amazing £186.50! 🧁💜
🦈 Friday took a cinematic twist as we celebrated the 50th anniversary of Jaws with movie facts, memories, and a “shark-tastic” tea!
🎂 And on Saturday, we marked the King's birthday in style with music, dancing, food and cheer all around.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, it’s been a week to remember! 📸✨

Here’s how our Care Home Open Week has started:

Monday:
💪 A lively morning fitness session with upbeat music and plenty of stretches to get us moving!
👗 In the afternoon, Fashion Queens brought retail therapy to us – our residents and staff loved browsing clothes, bags, and sprays.

Tuesday:
❤️ We celebrated National Love Day with a warm, love-themed coffee morning – sharing stories, songs, and smiles.
🎶 Vicky from Musical Moments joined us for a fun-filled Country & Western session with music, dancing, and interactive games!
