We proudly celebrated VE Day with all our wonderful residents and staff 🇬🇧

We were treated to an amazing live performance from Michaela Spice, who truly wowed everyone with a fantastic selection of British wartime songs. The room was filled with singing, smiles, laughter, and dancing as residents and staff enjoyed every moment together.

Following the entertainment, everyone tucked into a delicious VE Day lunch lovingly prepared by our fantastic kitchen team, a wonderful feast enjoyed by all!

The celebrations continued into the afternoon with a lovely garden party, where some residents relaxed with a small glass of their favourite tipple and others preferred a warm cuppa. We reminisced together, supported one another through shared memories, and took part in fun quizzes that brought plenty of laughter and friendly competition.

A truly special day full of community spirit, remembrance, friendship, and joy ❤️

Honouring the past and celebrating together. 🇬🇧

Join us tomorrow, Friday 8th May, at Safe Harbor as we mark VE Day with a morning of music and community spirit.

We have a live singer starting at 11:00 AM, followed by lunch at 12:30 PM. Everyone is welcome to join the festivities and bring along their own picnic to enjoy.

Our home was filled with music, laughter, and a burst of color today as we celebrated Cinco de Mayo! 💃✨

The activity team brought the energy, dancing through the home in festive costumes and spreading joy at every turn. Our residents joined in the fun, soaking up the lively atmosphere and tapping along to the music.

To make the day even more "spec-taco-lar," we enjoyed a delicious spread of Mexican-inspired snacks that everyone loved. It was a truly memorable celebration of culture, community, and great food! 🌯🎉

We believe there’s nothing quite like a morning of gentle self-care to set the tone for the day. Our residents enjoyed a relaxing nail care session today—taking the time for a pamper with careful trimming, filing, and a fresh coat of varnish. 💅

To top it off, we made the most of the early morning calm with peaceful walks through the gardens. Between the fresh air and the birdsong, it was the perfect way to feel refreshed and connected to nature. 🐦🌷

We had a beautiful start to the day, gathering together to sip tea and socialize while tuning into the morning service from Swanbank Church via live stream.

In the afternoon, we turned our focus to our feathered friends! 🐦 It was all hands on deck for our bird feeder workshop. Our residents loved the hands-on process of making and filling them, and we can’t wait to see our outdoor spaces buzzing (and chirping!) with local wildlife.

Throughout her time at Agnes and Arthur Shirley has created a fantastic selection of cakes for birthdays and special events, bringing smiles (and delicious treats!) to so many. Her creativity, care, and passion truly shine through in every bake.

And the best part? There are many more amazing creations still to come! 🎂👏

In our recent team meeting our resident representative shared that Stella always has a big smile on her face and makes sure residents receive their meals, snacks, and drinks in a timely manner. She also takes time out of her busy day to engage with residents on a one-to-one basis, showing genuine care and kindness 💖

Many of our residents have been eagerly anticipating the release of the new Michael Biopic since they saw it advertised on the trailers of the Epic - Elvis on concert. So we had to get our seats for release day!

Our residents enjoyed a wonderful trip on friday to Vue Cinema to watch the new Michael biopic. From the moment the film began, they were completely engrossed in the story, captivated by the music, performances, and powerful portrayal on screen. It was a truly enjoyable outing, and they spoke afterwards about how much they thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the experience. A fantastic day out filled with entertainment, nostalgia, and smiles.
