🌟 What a week we’re having so far at Agnes and Arthur! 💚

We hosted the very first Safe Harbor Bake Off, where residents from Florence House and The Place joined us for a friendly apple pie competition. 🥧 Florence House were crowned the winners! 👏🍎

We’ve also loved visits from M.A.D Reptiles and Pauline and Sasha from Pets As Therapy — our residents had such a great time, with some even conquering a few fears along the way! 🐍🐶💚

To finish it all off, we celebrated birthdays with some well-deserved pampering and special moments with loved ones. 🎉💅

Great News! Agnes and Arthur is collaborating with Stoke on Trent College! 🤝

We are thrilled to be partnering with the college to:

Upskill our staff using their amazing training facilities, including a fully-equipped mock hospital ward.

Offer student placements to provide real-world experience for the future adult social care workforce.

💗 On Friday, we proudly supported Breast Cancer Awareness at Agnes and Arthur. With the help of North Midlands Breast Screening Services, we hosted a dementia-friendly session showing residents how to correctly check their breasts using a prosthetic prop — helping raise awareness and confidence. 🎗️

We also shared information booklets within our local community before rounding off the day with a lovely cuppa and delicious cakes baked by Shirley from our kitchen team. ☕💞

☀️✨ It’s been a lovely few days here at Agnes and Arthur, filled with friendship, fresh air, and plenty of smiles. Over the weekend and this morning, residents have been out and about – attending mass at church, reconnecting with old friends, and sharing childhood memories with the priest. ⛪💛

We’ve also enjoyed a pub lunch, a cosy coffee catch-up, and even squeezed in a bit of essential shopping. ☕🛍️🍽️

A busy week so far...

📚✨ You’re never too old to learn something new! On National First Aid Day, our wonderful Safe Harbor trainer Sharon led an informative course for our residents, covering what to do in case of falls, choking, burns, and CPR. Everyone loved getting hands-on and learning these vital techniques 💪💛.

🎉 We also had a special birthday to celebrate – one of our lovely ladies enjoyed a trip to the hairdresser at Magdalen, picked up some essentials while shopping, and rounded the day off with a lovely lunch with a friend. A perfect way to mark her special day! 💐🥳

Chevorne delivers, day in and day out, a fantastic vision for community expansion and meaningful activities, always with a compassionate, caring, and warm approach to residents, staff, and visitors alike. When the chips were down (pun intended 🍟), our amazing Administrator Claire swapped her admin hat for a chef’s hat, stepping into the kitchen to make sure our residents still enjoyed the high-quality meals they know and love. We couldn’t be prouder! 💛👏
