We couldn’t let today’s courtyard opening pass without a little early celebration for our amazing Home Manager, Salv! 😄

In true Scotia Heights style, we all gathered together and gave you a (slightly off-key but very enthusiastic!) rendition of Happy Birthday—we think it was unforgettable for all the right reasons! 🎶😂

Thank you for everything you do, Salv. Your kindness, leadership, and sense of humour mean so much to both staff and service users. We hope your birthday is as special as you are (and maybe with slightly better singing!🎵 ).

🌟 What a fantastic day at Scotia Heights! 🌟

We were absolutely delighted to celebrate the opening of our newly refurbished courtyard — and what a celebration it was! The space looks incredible and has already brought so much joy to everyone here. 🌿✨

A huge highlight of the day was welcoming the incredibly talented Roy Lorenzo, who had everyone smiling, laughing, and thoroughly entertained. We were also thrilled to have Stoke City FC join us, making the day even more special for our service users. ⚽🎉

There was plenty of fun to go around, with everyone getting involved in games of bowling and ring toss — creating wonderful moments and memories together. Seeing so many happy faces truly made the day unforgettable. 😊

We’d like to say a massive THANK YOU to our amazing estates team, maintenance team, activities team, and catering team. Your hard work, dedication, and teamwork made today possible, and we couldn’t have done it without you! 💙

Here’s to many more happy moments in our beautiful new courtyard! 🌼

What a wonderful surprise to start the day! 🐣✨

We came in this morning expecting to see 3 little chicks… but instead, we were greeted by 6 beautiful chicks! What an egg-citing moment for everyone here at Scotia Heights Care Home 💛

The chicks have been busy making their rounds around the home, spreading smiles wherever they go. Our residents have absolutely loved spending time with them, enjoying plenty of gentle cuddles and special moments. They’ve even had the honour of meeting one of our amazing ambassadors, Andy – a moment we won’t forget anytime soon!

Just a reminder that we’ll be choosing names for our fluffy new arrivals LIVE tomorrow morning, so make sure to get your suggestions in by 4pm this afternoon ⏰ We can’t wait to see all your creative ideas!

💙 A big shout-out to our amazing admin team here at Scotia Heights 💙

If anyone ever wonders how the home runs so smoothly… the answer is: our admin team, caffeine, and what we can only assume is some kind of wizardry behind the scenes 🧙‍♀️📂😄

They keep everything organised, answer every query, solve problems before most of us have even finished asking the question, and somehow still make it all look calm and under control (even when the day definitely isn’t!) ☕💼

From managing the endless moving parts of care home life to keeping staff, families, and residents all in the loop — they genuinely keep Scotia Heights ticking over.

We see you, we appreciate you, and we’re very grateful you know where everything is when the rest of us absolutely do not 😅📋

🐣✨ What a wonderfully fluffy morning we’ve had! ✨🐣

Our staff and service users had the absolute joy of meeting our brand-new chicks for the very first time today! There were lots of gentle observations, curious smiles, and plenty of adorable fluffy cuddles all round 🐥💛

Even more exciting news… we’re thrilled to announce that a SECOND chick has now hatched! 💫 And in the sweetest twist, it had a little help from its proud big sibling to make its grand entrance into the world 🥹🐣💕

It was a beautiful moment of teamwork, care, and new life right before our eyes — and we couldn’t be happier to share it with our amazing community.

🐣✨ BIG NEWS! Our first chick has officially hatched! ✨🐣

We’re so excited to share that the very first member of our little flock made his grand entrance—and wow, he was quick about it! He hatched so fast we could barely keep up, and before we knew it, he was up, peeping, and ready to take on the world. 💛

Even more amazing, he’s already settling in beautifully and seems to be encouraging his brothers and sisters as they make their way out too. It’s like he’s cheering them on—what a little superstar! 🌟

We couldn’t be happier watching this tiny life begin and seeing the rest of the eggs starting to follow his lead. Stay tuned… more fluffy arrivals are on the way! 🐥🐥🐥

🚆🐠 From Train Tracks to Ocean Depths — Adventures Come Alive with VR! 🌊✨

We’re absolutely thrilled to be rolling out our VR headset to even more of our wonderful service users — and the smiles say it all! 😊

Recently, some of our residents embarked on an unforgettable virtual journey… starting with a trip from Darlington Station 🚆, watching the world go by from their train window, before being magically transported into a breathtaking underwater tunnel 🌊🐠 filled with vibrant, colourful fish swimming all around them. The sense of wonder and joy in the room was truly something special!

VR is more than just technology — it’s a gateway to new experiences, cherished memories, and moments of pure happiness. In care homes, it can help reduce isolation, spark conversations, and bring adventure to those who may not be able to travel as easily as they once did.

Seeing our service users laugh, explore, and immerse themselves in these incredible worlds reminds us why we do what we do 💙

Big news and we’re absolutely buzzing with excitement! 🥚✨

Our incredible eggs have safely arrived at Scotia — all 7 of them! 💛 After their journey, they’re now settling in nicely and we are counting down the days until they begin to hatch.

It’s such a special moment and we couldn’t be happier to see them arrive safe, sound, and full of promise. Now the real magic begins… 👀🐣
