🌟 Regional Ambassador Meeting 🌟

We’re so proud of our Service User Ambassador, Andy, for attending the recent Regional Ambassador Meeting!

Hosted at Woodside Place in Telford, the day was a fantastic opportunity for Andy to get to know other home ambassadors, build new connections, and share experiences. It was great to see such positive conversations taking place across a range of topics, bringing everyone together.

Andy also had the chance to learn about exciting new developments and initiatives coming across the homes, gaining valuable insights to bring back and share.

It’s wonderful to see Andy representing us with such enthusiasm and openness, making meaningful connections and helping strengthen the ambassador community. Well done, Andy – you’re doing an amazing job! 👏

🌟 Exciting News at Scotia Heights! 🌟

Today we officially launched our brand new VR headset — and what a fantastic start we’ve had! 🎉

Our Home Ambassador was the very first to give it a go, and let’s just say… he’s already been around the world! 🌍✨ From relaxing on the beautiful beaches of Lanzarote 🏖️ to exploring Edinburgh Zoo 🦒🦏 where he came face-to-face with rhinos and giraffes, it was quite the adventure!

Andy shared how much he enjoyed the experience, saying it was absolutely amazing — and we couldn’t agree more! 😄

We’re so excited to bring new experiences like this to Scotia Heights and can’t wait for more of our residents to explore, discover, and enjoy.

🌙✨ Early Eid Celebration with Taz ✨🌙

Today, we came together to celebrate an early Eid with our wonderful Activity Coordinator, Taz 🌙✨

To mark the occasion, we put together a special Eid basket filled with thoughtful goodies and treated everyone to some delicious cupcakes. The hub was beautifully decorated, creating a warm and festive atmosphere for all to enjoy.

Eid is a deeply meaningful time, centred around gratitude, reflection, generosity, and bringing people together. Celebrating occasions like this reminds us of the importance of recognising and respecting different cultures and traditions within our community.

We are proud to promote inclusion and ensure that everyone feels valued, seen, and celebrated. Moments like these help strengthen our bonds and create a more understanding and supportive environment for all 💛

☘️ Happy St Patrick’s Day from everyone at Scotia Heights! ☘️

What a fantastic day we’ve had celebrating all things green, lucky, and cheerful! 💚

Our residents were delighted by a special visit from the mischievous Lucky Leprechaun, who brought plenty of smiles, laughter, and a touch of magic to the home ✨🍀

We also put everyone’s guessing skills to the test with a fun game of “How many sweets are in the jar?” — and a big congratulations goes to our winner, Nikki from our maintenance team! 🎉🍬 (There were definitely some very confident guesses along the way! 😄)

And of course, no St Patrick’s Day would be complete without a visit to our very own on-site pub, The Six Towns Tavern, which we transformed for the occasion! Decked out in green decorations, it was the perfect place to soak up the festive spirit, share stories, and enjoy a wonderful atmosphere together 🍻💚

Days like today are all about bringing joy, laughter, and togetherness — and we certainly felt the luck of the Irish here at Scotia Heights! ☘️✨

🌸 A Special Mother’s Day Celebration at Scotia Heights 🌸

Today we took the time to celebrate the wonderful mothers and important women in our lives alongside our lovely service users. Our amazing activity staff came in especially to help make the day feel extra special and filled with smiles.

They set up a beautiful celebratory table for everyone to enjoy, complete with sweet treats, flowers and a lovely space where our service users could come together to mark the occasion. It was a simple but meaningful way to celebrate such an important day. 🍰🌷

We would also like to say a very special thank you to our wonderful staff who are working today. Your dedication, compassion and care make such a difference every single day. As a small token of our appreciation, our team members received a special pamper gift along with a thank you card to show how much we truly value everything you do.

Even on busy days, it’s still so important to take time to celebrate meaningful moments like Mother’s Day. Days like today remind us of the love, kindness and community that make Scotia Heights such a special place.

💅 Pamper Day at Scotia Heights 💅

Today at Scotia Heights Care Home we had a wonderful pamper afternoon for our lovely ladies.

A huge thank you to Emily and Millie from Rosebuds Beauty Company who kindly visited us to provide a relaxing pamper session. Our service users enjoyed having their nails cleaned, shaped and finished with a fresh polish, leaving everyone feeling refreshed and glamorous.

The lounge was filled with smiles, laughter and a calm, relaxing atmosphere as everyone enjoyed being looked after and spending time together. Moments like these are so special and really help our service users feel valued, confident and pampered.

Pamper sessions at Scotia Heights are more than just beauty treatments – they are a chance for our service users to relax, socialise and enjoy a little well-deserved self-care. Activities like this promote wellbeing, boost mood and give everyone the opportunity to feel their very best.

🎤 A Fantastic Night of Karaoke and Community 🎶

This evening, our Activity team took some of our service users from Scotia Heights along to enjoy a fantastic evening out at our monthly Karaoke Night at the Goldenhill Club🎤✨

It was a wonderful night filled with music, laughter and plenty of smiles. A special shout-out goes to Andy, who bravely took to the stage and sang his heart out to Uptown Girl and a variety of other songs. The crowd loved it and he truly stole the show! 👏🎶

Evenings like this are so important. Keeping strong links with community venues such as the Goldenhill Working Men’s Club helps our service users stay connected to places that hold many memories. For some, these familiar environments bring back wonderful moments from earlier in life, making activities like karaoke a fantastic way to encourage reminiscence.

Alongside the nostalgia, nights like these also support confidence, social interaction and overall wellbeing. Singing, sharing stories and enjoying the atmosphere together helps create meaningful experiences and lasting smiles.

A big thank you to the team at the club for always making us feel so welcome. We’re already looking forward to the next one! 🎶💙

🌟 A Very Special Visit from Teddy & Carlos! 🦙

Today at Scotia Heights Complex Care Home we had a truly wonderful visit from Knightley Alpaca Trekking💚

Our service users and staff were delighted to meet two very special alpacas, Teddy and Carlos. They quickly became the stars of the morning, enjoying plenty of gentle strokes, cuddles, and lots of attention from everyone. There were smiles, laughter, and lots of excitement as everyone had the chance to spend time getting to know them. 🥰

Animal visits like this bring so many benefits to care homes. Therapy animals can help reduce stress, lift moods, encourage conversation, and create meaningful moments of connection. For many of our service users, spending time with animals can also spark fond memories and provide a wonderful sense of comfort and companionship. 🐾

It was a joyful afternoon filled with cuddles, smiles, and special moments that brightened everyone’s day. ✨

🎶 A Fantastic Night Out for Scotia Heights! 🎶

Some of our service users from Scotia Heights enjoyed a wonderful evening out at Goldenhill Working Men’s Club where we went along to watch the fantastic Elton John vs Meatloaf tribute show!

It was a brilliant night filled with music, laughter, and plenty of singing along to all the classics. Our service users had an amazing time joining in with the songs, clapping along, and soaking up the atmosphere. Nights like these are always special, giving everyone the chance to relax, have fun, and enjoy great entertainment together.

A huge thank you to everyone at Goldenhill Working Men’s Club for such a warm welcome and wonderful hospitality. Your kindness helped make the evening even more enjoyable for everyone.

Events like this are a great reminder of how important community connections are. Being able to get out, meet people, and take part in local activities makes such a positive difference, and we’re grateful to have such supportive places in our community.
