✔️ Seek shade during peak sun hours
✔️ Don’t forget easy-to-miss areas like ears, scalp, and the backs of hands

The Team laced up their trainers this morning to raise awareness about dental health and encourage people to look after their teeth 🦷 🪥 We were joined by members of team who do a great job delivering workshops to schools in our city, and promote oral health at roadshows and community events 👌🏻🤩 Big thanks to Biddulph Pharmacy who sponsored our fabulous T-shirts, kindly printed by Jamie and his team . was certainly the place to be this morning….sunshine, exercise, and maybe a couple of take home messages about teeth. Small habit changes, big impact on your smile 😉 Thanks to all the runners…the elite group (we had a 4th and 5th finisher 🔥🏃), the 25 minuters 👌🏻😉, the first timers 👊🏼, the just get rounders, and the dancers 🎶( you know who you are 🤣) and thanks to all the park runners who had photos in our selfie frame and listened to our dental advice 👍🏻 .nhs

This week we’ve enrolled our first two patients into an exciting national project we’re taking part in at .nhs 🙌
Led by the British Orthodontic Society and the British Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, this study explores how patients feel about their teeth and bite before and after combined orthodontic and surgical treatment.
We’ve proudly been collecting our own patient feedback for nearly 10 years (huge thank you to all our amazing patients who’ve completed our questionnaires 💙), but being part of this national project means we can contribute to something even bigger—using valuable patient-reported outcomes to help advance orthodontics and orthognathic surgery across the UK.
A big thank you to everyone who has signed up so far, and to those considering taking part in the coming months—we truly appreciate your support!

HPV Awareness Day 2026 💙

Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a very common virus — most people will have it at some point in their lives. While many HPV infections clear on their own, some types can cause cancer.

HPV is linked to:
▫️ Throat (oropharyngeal) cancer
▫️ Oral cancer

Cases of HPV-related throat and oral cancers have been rising, which is why awareness really matters.

Regular dental check-ups every six months allows your dentist to screen for early signs of oral cancer — often before you notice any symptoms. Early detection saves lives.

Protect your health:
✔️ Attend routine dental appointments
✔️ Know the signs (persistent ulcers, lumps, red/white patches)
✔️ Consider HPV vaccination where eligible

Alice’s team regularly deliver KeepStokeSmiling workshops in local primary schools, in conjunction with the primary stars programme 🦷🪥⚽️Recently we’ve been working with Callum and his team who have been delivering oral health workshops for teenagers in high schools as part of Inspires programme 🤩. Thanks to Miss Patel, one of our orthodontic consultants, who has driven this project to ensure we are being more sustainable and reducing our carbon footprint 👣
The figures speak for themselves;

“Since going digital, we’ve already saved over 4,500 sheets of paper and cut more than two and a half tonnes of carbon emissions, the equivalent electricity consumption of about one and a half average households for one year, from printing and transport. It’s been incredibly rewarding to see a process that once took hours and multiple pages now completed quickly and safely with clear benefits for everyone involved.”
