A few days ago, Sam and Chrissy attended an interment at the beautiful St Lawrence Church in Biddulph. Walking through the beautiful cemetery, overlooking Biddulph Grange, its amazing what you do not see from the main road. On leaving, we were invited in for coffee and a little chat on the history of the church. Kindness and Humanity are never really far away, and on days that you feel a little lost or down in the dumps, strangers are always around the corner to brighten up a little spirit. They have open days most Saturdays and it is a beautiful place, with such kind hearted people ❤️ Thank you St Lawrence Church Biddulph Biddulph Community News Biddulph Grange National Trust

We have a little visitor here today 😍

Kodi was adopted by funeral director Samantha in 2024 when his owner sadly passed away and he couldn't stay in the family home. He settled in perfectly with Samantha's family, and occasionally comes to work. Kodi's favourite words are 'work', 'car' and the obvious 'walkies' and 'treats '. So on the mornings that he joins us, Samantha has asked if he wants to go to work in the car, he wags his tail, smiles and squeaks in excitement, sometimes barking!

A warm welcome to our furry funeral director, Kodi Bear!! 🐶🐾😍

As 2025 draws to a close, we reflect on a year of highs and lows, whether this the first year or numerous living with grief, hold on to a little shimmer of belief. Gather around your loved ones, those who are still here, and hold them a little tighter this year, make those memories, take that shot, in the rain or the sun so hot. We wish the best for the upcoming year, 2026- we're always here. For a cuppa or a biscuit, a listening ear, or sharing in joyous memories with a little cheer.

Thank you to our families we are so proud to have supported, we hope you have a peaceful New Year. All our love, the team at W.R Bettelley xx

A message from our funeral director Samantha:

When I first started at W.R Bettelley, coming up for 4 years now, the first Christmas I wanted to introduce a 'memory tree'. In the January that followed, I found it tough to remove the hearts with loved ones messages and the thought of packing it away sent shivers down my spine. A memory of a loved one stays every day, not just in December so I decided to keep the tree up all year round. Families who come to see us, sometimes leave little love notes on our special tree for their loved one, whether it be their birthday, anniversary, Christmas, Mothers or Fathers Day. It is kept up all year, shining like a star, to remember your loved ones not just at this time of year. Each December, we've invited families by post to write a heart for those they have lost within the year, if they didnt get chance to leave one prior to and send it back to us, this year we are trying something different.

If you would like to leave a comment, or private message us with your loved ones name and a short message, we will personally write them and hang them on our tree, even if we were not your chosen funeral director, as we are united in grief and it is heightened at this time of year. Our thoughts are with our families weve cared for, our community, our friends and our own families and if we can help, shine a little light on dark days, that is what we are there for.

💫
