Our handmade knitted hearts are a simple, yet sacred and dignified touch we place in a loved ones hands, if they have chosen a direct or unattended cremation, with visits in our chapel of rest. Some choose to not visit in our chapel.

Here at W R Bettelley Funeral Directors we have seen an increase in marketing activity from some national direct cremation providers.
Many people aren’t even aware that their local independent funeral director offers the same direct cremation services, let me assure you that this is something we have always offered.

What makes us different?

Our team of qualified staff all live and work in our local community.
Our team are here to guide and support you and your loved ones.
Your loved one will be transferred into our care at the earliest opportunity, and they will remain in Stoke on Trent with us until the cremation takes place.
Our non-attended cremations are carried out at a crematorium of your choosing within days of the paperwork being completed and the ashes returned in the following days.
We can arrange for your loved one to be dressed in their own clothing and you can visit them in our chapel of rest.

How much does it cost?
A local dignified direct cremation arranged by our team here at W R Bettelley costs only £1860.
If you’d like to plan for the future, we can also arrange a direct cremation Golden Charter funeral plan which would cost £2185.

Well 🥵 its been a hot one today! But, come rain or shine, cold or blistering heat, we walk alongside every family we look after, today was no exception. Horse drawn, from the wonderful Fred Gee Berkhamsytch Carriages , family made floral tributes, and full uniform with a touch of red, made a perfect goodbye for a truly loved gentleman. This particular family requested a unique personal send off for their family member, and after seeing our google reviews, they had no doubt we would follow their wishes. Thank you for entrusting our small team to look after you all. Its been an honour x

Funeral director Samantha and her little family paid their respects today to Diogo Jota at Liverpool Football Club. On behalf of herself, and us as a team at W.R Bettelley, we are deeply saddened by the unexpected passing of a talented young man and his brother Andre. Our thoughts are with their families and loved ones they leave behind. Samantha's son Riley, and avid Liverpool FC fan, also wrote in the book of condolence, that will be passed to Diogo's wife and children. Diogo's sudden passing, highlights once again why life is so precious and to cherish those around you as we never know when we have to say goodbye. Jota, forever number 20, as Liverpool say You'll Never Walk Alone. United in grief, an incredible amount of tributes left,we stand as one. Have no regrets in life, love hard and love those around you before its too late. Rest in Peace. ❤️🖤❤️
