It is intended that this plan will help people to stay well, closer to home and reduce health inequalities through smarter, more sustainable services.

We are also delighted to announce thar Buki Adeyemo, Chief Executive at North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust, was named the winner of the Executive Leader of the Year – Livingbridge Award at the Black Healthcare Awards on Saturday🏆

We are pleased to inform you that Kenny Laing, Chief Nursing Officer and Deputy Chief Executive at North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust, has been elected as the new Vice Chair of the National Mental Health Nurse Directors Forum.

Kenny said: “It’s a privilege to be appointed as the vice chair of the forum. The forum plays an important role in supporting mental health and learning disability practice across the country and ensuring that mental health and learning disability nursing is able to positively influence the current changes including the 10 year plan is crucial”.

He will work alongside Vanessa Smith, Chief Nurse at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, who will be stepping into the role of Chair.

Local pilot project supporting children with asthma receives national recognition

The Keep Warm, Keep Well scheme which was launched at Combined Healthcare in collaboration with University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM) in September last year has been awarded ‘highly commended’ in the ‘Driving Change Through Data and Analytics’ category at the recent HSJ Digital Awards.

The scheme – piloted at Hanley-based Moorcroft Medical Centre – involves innovative population health software being deployed to quickly target patients with a diagnosis of childhood asthma and other social indicators of cold-related risk for referral to local charity, Beat the Cold. The pilot was so effective at addressing a pertinent local cause of poor health outcomes that it attracted national funding to significantly increase the number of patients and breadth of conditions that benefit from the scheme.

We would like to offer congratulations to Louise Stockdale, Head of Transformation and Sustainability at UHNM, who led the project as part of the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent High Potential Scheme whilst on placement with the Transformation Management Office at Combined Healthcare.

Staff, teams and service users from across the trust joined in with Stoke-on-Trent's Big Centenary Tea Party yesterday which saw over 15, 000 people from across the city taking part.

Our facilities partner, Serco UK, provided tea party boxes for patients on the ward. There were also take-away boxes available in the Sip & Savour Cafe at Harplands Hospital.

What a great way to celebrate 100 years of Stoke's city status!

Tomorrow (Saturday 5 July), the NHS turns 77 years old. 🎈🎉

Since its establishment in 1948, the NHS has been providing people across the UK with healthcare based on their needs, free at the point of access, and we think that's something to celebrate!

All week, patients, colleagues and visitors to the Trust have been marking the occasion by getting involved in this year's NHS Big Tea, having a natter over a cuppa and a cake and raising money for Combined Charity, our Trust charity, in the process. 🫖🍰

Thank you to everyone who has helped us mark this special birthday this year and taken a moment to reflect on the impact that 77 years of the NHS has had on us all.

As well as photos of the new, multifunctional enhanced support suite, the Peace Pod, you are also invited to experience the room virtually for yourself with a 360° walk-through Matterport scan which can be found below.

This technology allows users to 'walk' through the space and is part of a piece of work at Combined Healthcare to provide these walkthroughs for a number of our sites and locations, increasing the visibility of our services and providing a unique insight into Combined Healthcare.
