💬 Time to Talk Day 💬

Today is Time to Talk Day — a reminder that talking about mental health can make a real difference. Small conversations can help break the stigma and support someone who may be struggling.

If you’re finding things tough, feeling overwhelmed, or just need someone to listen, please know that help is available. Your GP practice is here to support you, and you can also access guidance and resources from Mind: www.mind.org.uk

You don’t have to face things alone. A conversation can be the first step to feeling better.

🎗️ World Cancer Day 🎗️

Today is World Cancer Day, a global reminder of the impact cancer has on individuals, families, and communities. It’s also a chance to highlight the importance of prevention, early detection, and timely support.

While not all cancers can be prevented, lifestyle changes and regular screening can make a real difference. If you have concerns about symptoms, a family history of cancer, or questions about screening programmes, please contact the practice. We’re here to listen and support you.

Let’s stand together with everyone affected by cancer and keep the conversation going.

🌟 National Obesity Awareness Week – Supporting Healthier Lives 🌟

This week, our practice is supporting National Obesity Awareness Week, a campaign focused on raising awareness about obesity and promoting positive steps toward better health.

Obesity can increase the risk of long-term conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and certain cancers. But it’s important to remember that small, sustainable changes to diet, activity levels, and daily habits can make a big difference — and support is available.

Our team is here to provide guidance, advice, and encouragement for patients looking to improve their health and wellbeing. If you’re concerned about your weight or want to make lifestyle changes, don’t hesitate to speak to us.

Together, we can take steps toward healthier, happier lives.

Love Your Liver Awareness Month

Your liver works hard every day to keep you healthy — and looking after it really matters.

Small changes can make a big difference:
✔️ Drink alcohol within recommended limits
✔️ Maintain a healthy weight
✔️ Eat a balanced diet and stay active
✔️ Get tested if you’re at risk of liver disease

Liver disease often has no symptoms in the early stages, so awareness and early action are key.

Find out more about protecting your liver and checking your risk with the British Liver Trust. https://britishlivertrust.org.uk/love-your-liver-month/

❤️ National Blood Donor Month – Give Blood, Save Lives ❤️

This month we’re supporting National Blood Donor Month, a campaign that highlights the life-saving impact of blood donation and thanks those who already donate.

Every blood donation can help save or improve up to three lives, supporting patients who need transfusions due to surgery, childbirth, illness, or emergency care. Donating blood is a simple act of kindness that can make a huge difference to our communities.

If you’re healthy and eligible, consider becoming a blood donor or booking your next donation. Regular donations help ensure there is a safe and reliable blood supply for patients who need it most.

Thank you to all current blood donors for your continued generosity. If you’d like more information about donating blood, visit the NHS Blood and Transplant website or speak to a member of our team for guidance.

Together, we can help save lives 🩸

💙 Dry January – Supporting Healthier Choices 💙

This January, we’re supporting the Dry January campaign, which encourages people to take a break from alcohol and reflect on their drinking habits.

Reducing alcohol intake, even for a short time, can bring a range of health benefits, including improved sleep, better mood, increased energy levels, and support for both physical and mental wellbeing.

Dry January isn’t about pressure or judgement — it’s about awareness, balance, and making informed choices that support long-term health. Whether you choose to take part for the whole month or simply cut back, every positive step counts.

If you’d like advice or support around alcohol use, our team is here to help. Please don’t hesitate to contact the practice for confidential guidance.

Let’s start the year by prioritising our health and wellbeing 🌱
