We are delighted to now be offering the fantastic PostureFitting service in our Stokesley clinic from Kate. Devised by Irish Physiotherapist, Siobhán O'Donovan, PostureFitting is a pioneering physiotherapy approach to breast weight and posture management that uplifts the way girls and women feel, move, and look. Incorporating a unique combination of both internal support (via alignment) & external support (via optimal bra-fit), Kate will advise on how to fit yourself into an optimally fitted bra as well as optimise your postural support. For women and girls going through life changes, weight loss or gain, or having difficulty with pain, posture or sport performance. Kate has successfully trained with Siobhán to become a PostureFitting Partner, the only one in North Yorkshire. We are delighted to welcome Lauren Pettit to our physiotherapy team! Lauren has been working in the NHS in North Tees and has great experience in managing musculo-skeletal conditions from head to toe! She is a Stokesley resident and cares about the health and wellbeing of our community. Lauren is available to book in to see in on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and alternate Saturday mornings, in on Tuesdays and Fridays. Huge welcome, Lauren! (P.S. we now have two Lauren's on our physio team... let the confusion commence!)

🥇My 1st on the 1st🥇posts were first inspired by me doing a round-up of events & realising how much had happened that I had not shared.

This month's, & the 1st for 2026, 1st on the 1st is being brought to you on the 2nd, being the time of year it is! Taking my own advice for self-care - it is high time for us to treat oourselves as we would others. Because we deserve it!

I spotted this carpet of daffodils on Jan 1st, making them the 1st daffodils of the year for me, & certainly my 1st time seeing any on the 1st day of the 1st month of the year! Symbolizing hope, renewal & new beginnings - the feeling of a fresh start & brighter days ahead - seems apt for the dawning of a new year.

The Irish word for daffodil is "lús an chromchinn", which literally means "plant of the bowed head," referring to its drooping flower 🥀. Now as I see b👀bs everywhere, I just can't help but associate that bowed orientation with the dipped headlights position that we see in women & girls before they have a PostureFitting 🥴😉.

If you want to just enjoy looking at but NOT channeling the daffodil's drooping posture, talk to us about a PostureFitting. You are most definitely worth it!

And that’s a wrap! We are now closed until Monday. Both clinics are open next week on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. We’ve sponsored a Christmas Tree and the Christmas Tree Festival at All Saints Church in Northallerton this festive season. There are some wonderful trees and wonderful charities being supported. Our chosen charity is Chopsticks Charity in Northallerton who support adults with learning difficulties. Pop along to the church to see how many skeletons you can find on our tree and admire all the others!

Kate is presenting at the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy conference this Friday. She will be presenting the paper she co-wrote based on her Master’s dissertation on Physiotherapists’ perceptions of managing menopausal women with musculoskeletal pain. Time to share the evidence to physios!
