quiet practices, that may even be stronger dynamic asana practices, invite stillness. and stillness can bring discomfort. whether that’s physical, emotional or both can change moment to moment; it can change every time we step on our mat. many of us live such fast, busy lives, that slowing down and finding presence, can be one of the biggest challenges we face; quiet can be something we run away f

rom, it can stir things up we’ve not wanted to notice. finding comfort in discomfort, not only helps us grow, it helps us meet ourselves with no filter. that journey can be a long, and sometimes, bumpy road - but that’s ok - we’re here to hold space and do this together. the word yoga comes from the root word yuj, which means to yoke, to join or to unite, and in a spiritual sense, refers to the joining of the individual consciousness with the universal consciousness. many now interpret that yoga means to unite the mind, body and soul, and so on the surface, the practice is personal, and although we follow the same path, each person’s journey is ultimately unique. but one of the many incredible things about yoga is that, something so personal can unite so many people. even if we practice by ourselves, a sense of connection to a wider community - united by a shared love of yoga, is often bubbling away under the surface. the power of this connection is almost palpable in a group class, when your breath and movement is synchronised harmoniously with others around you. just like yoga, community is about connection and unity. merge them and their power is amplified, allowing us to feel safe and supported in our journey. in a world where virtual communication has become the norm, authentic connection is more vital than ever. our community is filled with likeminded, compassionate souls; you’ll meet new friends, make meaningful connections and find a real sense of belonging. join us at unfurling space, and we’ll unfurl together. ✨

when life feels overwhelming
we often think we need a huge reset

but usually it’s the smaller things that bring us back to ourselves

fresh air
movement
rest
connection
a moment of quiet

little reminders that we’re human
not machines ✨

what’s something small that helps you feel more grounded again?

16/05/2026

there’s so much pressure to stay consistent with everything

to never lose momentum
to never wobble
to always be doing things “properly”

but real life doesn’t work like that

sometimes we drift
sometimes we disconnect from ourselves a bit
sometimes we need to start again

and that’s okay ✨

you haven’t failed because you needed a pause

you can always come back

sometimes the signs are loud

but often they’re quieter than that

feeling constantly “on”
finding it hard to switch off
moving through life a bit disconnected from yourself

we’re so used to pushing through that we barely notice when our body is asking for something different

a slower breath
a longer pause
a moment to come back to ourselves again ✨

which slide hit home the most for you?

one of the biggest fears people have before their first class is
“what if everyone looks at me?”

but the reality is…

everyone else is usually just trying to remember which side they’re on
or wondering when savasana is ✨

yoga rooms are far less intimidating than people imagine them to be

and most people are just quietly rooting for each other

what almost stopped you from starting?

starting yoga can feel weirdly intimidating

most people think they need to be flexible
calm
coordinated
or somehow already good at it before they begin

in reality?

most people are just figuring it out as they go
having a stretch
taking a breath
and trying not to wobble too much

that’s the beauty of it ✨

what’s something you wish you’d known before starting yoga? let us know in the comments👇🏻

somewhere along the way
a lot of us learned that slowing down
had to be earned

after the work is done
after everyone else is looked after
after we’ve pushed through one more thing

but your body doesn’t only deserve care once it’s exhausted

sometimes the most important thing you can do
is pause before you reach that point ✨
