❓Not feeling like your self at work❓

1 in 4 adults experience mental illness with many more of us caring for someone who does. Good work can be beneficial for our mental health but sometimes we need a hand when we’re not feeling like ourselves.

If you live in York or North Yorkshire and are already in work or are thinking of returning to work but you need some help with your mental health, please get in touch.

The Trailblazer Resilience Hub can provide an initial assessment to discuss the best support for your needs and up to six sessions with a trained mental health professional, all funded through the Good Work, Healthy People project at no cost to you.

Visit bit.ly/GoodWorkYNY and click on ‘support for employees’ to find out more or speak to our reception team.

💉🩺Do you know the signs of Type 1 Diabetes?🩺💉

If type 1 diabetes is left undiagnosed, it can get really serious, really quickly. But knowing the signs can avoid a medical emergency and save lives.

The four most common signs of type 1 diabetes in both adults and children are...

🚽Toilet – Going for a wee more often.
🥛Thirsty – Non-stop thirst and drinking more than usual.
😴Tired – Feeling more tired and having less energy than usual.
❗️Thinner – Unexplained weight loss.

If you or your child are weeing more often, constantly thirsty, more tired than usual, or losing weight for no reason, it could be a symptom of type 1 diabetes

If left undiagnosed, type 1 diabetes can be fatal. If you’re experiencing any of the 4Ts, ask your doctor for a test immediately

📚Patients as Partners in Healthcare Education📚

The Medical School trains a range of students who will work in the NHS. Our students will become doctors, physician associates and clinical scientists. Working with our students helps them to develop their communication and clinical skills.

Why get involved?
📖It's an opportunity to meet other patients and volunteers and chat about shared experience
📖Gain insight into how doctors and other healthcare workers are trained
📖Get satisfaction from being part of the student's development and training
📖Help to keep our programmes patient focused

🩸🥚Don't just give eggs this Easter - Give Blood🥚🩸

NHS Blood donation reckons that a bloods donation takes less time than eating a chocolate egg (well, almost), and it's a way of helping people in need across the country

To book an appointment for over the Easter Holidays please use the link below

🐣 This Easter, don't just give eggs — give something that can save lives!

We reckon a donation takes less time than eating a chocolate egg (well, almost), and it's a way of helping people in need across the country. Now that's a pretty sweet deal!

Book your appointment over the Easter holidays ➡️ https://ow.ly/lQ9r50YwIKr

If you can't make your planned appointment, please let us know as soon as possible - so we can make it available for another donor.

We send questionnaires via text message to patients after most appointments - where we ask how they found the Surgery overall.
In March we received 468 responses of which the responses were as follows:

Very Good - 410 responses
Good - 39 responses
Neither Good Nor Poor - 11 responses
Dont/Know - 2 responses
Poor - 5 responses

We read all of your comments and share these with the team and appreciate you taking the time to send these back.

If you cannot complete the online form we also have paper questionnaires and a postbox on the desk in reception and there is a feedback form on our website too.
