Dougie Reid has become a regular performer at Havencourt, and today we were very much looking forward to his visit. Residents often comment on how much they enjoy his voice and his wonderful repertoire of classic songs, with many favourites bringing back happy memories of their younger days. 🎤 🎶

We especially enjoy the time he takes after each performance to chat with residents individually. His warm and friendly manner is always appreciated and helps make each visit feel personal and memorable. 🤝

A few of our gentlemen paid a visit to the local Men’s Shed this morning to collect our wonderful new wheelchair-accessible plant boxes 🌱🪴🪻

We are incredibly grateful to the Men’s Shed, and especially Davie Ross, for the kindness and support shown in creating these for us. They will make such a difference, allowing more of our residents to get involved in gardening and enjoy the outdoors. 🪴 🪏

A very special thank you to Davie, whose skill and hard work brought these planters to life. As the “Shed’s” only joiner, he crafted them himself, and we truly appreciate the time, care, and effort behind his work. 🪚🔨🪛

We can’t wait to get planting and make the most of them! 🌼🌸

We had another fantastic and thoroughly entertaining visit from The Puppet Gang last week. 👯 We were serenaded by Elvis, 🕺🏼 had a dance with grandpa 👴🏼 and got a tune or two from Satchmo! 🎺 A great time was had by all! 😃

This morning started with some unscheduled walks thanks to kind family members who volunteered to help push wheelchairs. Because of you, more of our residents were able to get out and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air. ☀️ ☀️ 🚶 🚶🏽‍♀️

In the afternoon, some of the ladies headed down to the Knit & Natter group at St. James Church, enjoying a chat, a bit of painting and great company. 🧶 🪡 🎨

Wednesday saw the residents and staff being put through their paces by the activities team 💪

We kicked off the morning with some physical exercise, followed by a crossword to get those minds working too 🧠

Next up, a lively game of football to keep the energy going ⚽

After lunch, we rounded off the day with our firm favourite… bingo! Eyes down! Very serious business indeed 😉

Many thanks to Sliza and Barney from Beginner Ballroom & Latin Dance Classes for coming along and entertaining us this afternoon. 💃🏻 🕺🏼 They brought so much energy, elegance, and joy, lighting up the room from the very first step. It was heartwarming to see so many of our residents joining in—up on their feet, dancing along, and singing with big smiles all around. 🥰
