Hello, welcome to Thursday, to New Year’s Day & to a brand new year 🤩

today we say Thank You and, ask how, after 31 days of our mindful advent journey, has your festive season 2025 gone so far, what are you grateful for?

perhaps, like ours, you’re grateful for the heady mix of love & laughter, of chat & chilling, of full houses & even fuller hearts - tinged with sadness for those not with us yet jam packed with special moments to enjoy & to savour - our Christmas 2025 has been unique in so many great ways, perhaps yours has been different too x

how about stop & pause as we close off our mindful festive calendar & begin a new chapter - allow a glimmer of gratitude in - for the magic & the mess

thank you for being on this journey with us & after 31 days of mindful prompts, what’s next for you, how will you continue your mindful journey?

perhaps you’re going to revisit some of the prompts or you’re curious to look into the science of mindfulness a little more?

perhaps you’d like some support to develop your very own mindfulness practice - feel free to come along to our weekly sessions (Mondays 6pm & Saturdays 8am) - you can also become a member of our online Mindful Community & we have loads of practices for you to listen to whenever you want, just get in touch x

Hello, welcome to Wednesday & to our final prompt of our Mindful Festive calendar, to day 31 🎄

tonight we take the first step across the threshold between the old year & the new - an ending & a beginning at the same time - an out breath to let go & an in breath to let in

thresholds can be wonderful opportunities to pause, to stop & to be intentional about both what we’re leaving behind & what we’re stepping into

thresholds offer us the chance to shift, to change & to slowly begin again - not anew but forever changed by our experiences from the year before - older, perhaps wiser, still standing, soaking up the joys, the challenges, delights, the beauty, breathing it all in

we’ve spent the last few days gently reflecting about the year that almost was. now, in these final moments of 2025, perhaps shift your focus a little to the year that waits in the wings

🎄begin to think about what you might need from 2026
🎄begin to think about how you want to feel
🎄begin to think about what might be important to you this year
🎄begin to think about a word that might guide you through the next 12 months, what might that word be? ask yourself, where am I needing inspiration in my life? ask yourself, what do I need to motivate me, to support me?
🎄if a word comes to mind, write it down where you’ll see it regularly & begin to think how your word might influence & support you throughout 2026. how might you take your word & use it to guide you each day, each week & each month throughout the brand new year?

there’s no pressure to do anything apart from ask the questions, listen for the answers (if there are any), take the first step & begin….

today we’re continuing our gentle reflections as we bring this year, that almost was, to a close before the year that waits begins

today we’re all about the challenges & what’s not gone well

If your 2025 has been anything like ours, it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster - with highs, lows & many many occasions when things absolutely did NOT go to plan

so today, pause, take a moment. take a deep breath in & an even longer breath out - this long out breath will send a message to your body & your brain that you’re safe & sound as you begin your reflection

🎄ask yourself: in what ways have I been challenged during 2025?

🎄ask yourself what did I learn about myself during these times of difficulty in 2025?

🎄ask yourself, in what ways have I grown this past year?

🎄 and, this might sound weird but ask yourself, amidst these challenging moments, can I allow myself a glimmer of gratitude for everything I’ve gone through this year - I might not have wanted these challenges but they were here anyway & I’ve got through them

above all, remind yourself of your courage, of your bravery & of your resilience in the face of adversity in 2025. remind yourself that you have survived 100% of the challenges that 2025 has thrown at you & take a moment of quiet congratulation for how amazingly strong & how utterly brilliant you really are 🤩

Hello, welcome to Monday, to these final few days of 2025 & to more gentle reflections as part of my Mindful Festive Calendar 2025 🎄

and today is all about leaning in to let go
to gently leaving things behind in 2025 - this year that almost was

so how about today - find some space in your day to pause, to breathe & to take a moment. ask yourself:

🎄where am I limiting myself - perhaps with habits, behaviours, ways of thinking, that might feel comfortable but just don’t work for me any more?

🎄what people, places, & activities no longer serve me - perhaps they don’t nourish me, support me or might even drain me? moving through life involves growing beyond & letting go - what needs to change for me?

🎄where I am holding myself back by not being authentic, by not using my voice or by not being me - when am I playing small? the world needs to see you, the real you - you were not born to hide, you were born to shine

these things that we carry with us from day to day, from week to week, from month to month & from year to year can get SO heavy - they weigh us down often without us even realising

so how about give yourself permission, if you can, to leave these behind in 2025- you’ll start 2026 SO much lighter x go gently, letting go can be hard, can be challenging, can be unsettling - start small, be brave, you’re worth it & you’ve got this 💪🏻

today’s prompt is all about the power of reflection

reflection allows us the opportunity to stop, to pause, to consider how we’re feeling, to lean into everything that we have, to take a mental photo of this moment & to commit it to memory

the power of reflection is wide ranging:
🎄when we reflect, we see how far we’ve come, how much we’ve achieved

🎄when we reflect, we see what we’ve overcome & new skills we’ve learnt along the way

🎄when we reflect, we focus on who & what is missing & the many many blessings that we have right now

so today, as you begin the annual process of finishing up this year that almost was, how about take a moment of quiet, to pause & to acknowledge everything & everyone that’s here with you, on all that you have, it’s precious beyond words x

Hello, welcome to Saturday & Day 27 of our Mindful Festive Calendar 🎄

today’s mindful festive moment is to lean into the chill or what the author Beth Kempton calls ‘The Hush’ - this precious liminal space between Christmas & New Year x

if like me, you sometimes struggle to chill, here’s some super easy ideas:

* snuggle up on the sofa & watch one of your favourite Christmas movies
* start re-reading one of your favourite books from 2025
* listen to your favourite piece of music
* re-watch a Christmas episode from one of your favourite shows

the trick here is not to pick something new. the trick here is to help your brain to chill by not worrying about the ending of the movie, by not figuring out the plot of the book, by not trying to sing along to new music & by not trying to work out what happens at Christmas - the fact that you already know what happens can be immensely comforting for us

these simple tricks can help soothe our over-stimulated nervous system, can help us settle down & can really help us chill, why not give one of them a go today

🎄soaking up & taking in the feelings of connection, of community that can often come with this time of year

🎄we’re savouring the yummy food & leaning into what can often be the best bit of Christmas - leftovers!

🎄we’re savouring the messiness of this time - we’re not really sure what day it is, we might not be too sure of plans & the house might look like it’s been turned upside down by present opening, by wrapping & by very welcome family, friends & visitors

🎄we’re also savouring the lull, that liminal space that happens between Christmas & New Year - this betwix-mas time so today, how about let yourselves savour - lean in, soak it up - the magic is in the mess

🎄today we’re all about being present with our thoughts & our feelings - the emotions of the festive season, the good, the bad & the ugly, the beautiful, the magical & the chaotic - let’s welcome it all in

🎄today we’re all about being present for the things that go well, the stuff that doesn’t get done & the plans that go awry - the magic is in the mess

go gently with yourselves today
give yourself the gift of your own presence too

today’s mindful moment is all about connection & it’s based on one of the longest scientific studies ever - the Harvard Study of Adult Development. This study found that having close, loving relationships in our lives is THE biggest influencer for our health & happiness
so today, here’s some simple ways to boost those all-important connections:

🎄reach out & message your family & pals, let them know you’re thinking about them

🎄actively look for ways to show gratitude & to appreciate the people around you

🎄be kind to others - you don’t need a reason

🎄set up new, shared traditions that bring you closer together - they don’t need to cost anything & the more personal & memorable the better

🎄and finally, our brains are literally hard wired for connection. this festive season, how about plan down-time where you can really enjoy & savour the time with the people you care most about. it really is all about the gift of presence not the presents

the festive season can be magical - exciting & memorable yet it can also be overwhelming, emotional & charged with expectations
this year, please get real on what you want from Christmas 2025

🎄this year please be realistic about how much of it can actually be achieved - let’s ditch perfect & aim for meaningful

🎄this year please get real on what’s important to you, your family & friends - what works for you & what doesn’t

🎄this year, please be realistic about your energy levels AND your stress levels - it doesn’t all have to get done

🎄this year, let’s get real on what this festive season 2025 will look like & feel like - for some it might be sparkly & magical, for others it might be quiet & gentle - whatever works for you is ok

🎄this year, let’s give ourselves permission to be our authentic, beautiful selves - let’s all get real

Hello, welcome to Monday & to Day 22 of our Mindful Advent 2025 🎄

and today we’re all about enough - in fact, we’re all about more than enough!

I don’t know about you but I often stress myself out by doing more rather than less, I get overwhelmed by the endless decisions at this time of year & end up heading into the festivities often feeling frazzled & if I’m honest, a bit grumpy

if this sounds a bit like you, here’s some simple ways to remind ourselves that, at this stage in the game, enough is, well, enough

🎄take at least one thing off your list - more if possible
🎄you don’t have to see everyone before Christmas - let folk know you’ll catch up properly afterwards or in the New Year
🎄 if you don’t have everything done on your list, the sky will not fall in & the world will not end
🎄the house does NOT need a deep clean, you don’t need matching PJs or a Christmas Eve Box to enjoy the festivities - go & do something fun instead (ps if you want to do these things & they bring you joy, go for it)
🎄 Repeat after me - what we have is enough

So this year, remind yourself - enough is so much more than enough. More tomorrow, Sarah 🤶

as we make our way through these final few days before Christmas 2025, pause, sit down & take some time

we call this the power of intention
the power of our amazing brains to make things happen & to turn our visions into reality

and this week when there’s so much else going on, let’s also throw in the Winter Solstice energy today & our intentions can be super powered 💪🏻

🎄make a cuppa
🎄pause
🎄take a moment ask yourself -how I do I want to feel this week?
🎄take a moment remind yourself what’s important for you this week?
🎄take a moment, tell yourself how you’re going to show up for yourself this week?

ask the questions
DO NOT worry about answers coming straight away
write down any answers that do come because you will forget them!
put this list where you’ll see it!
be patient with yourself and others, go gently & kindly today & in the days ahead & enjoy this festive lead-up as best you can
