Aberdeenshire Public Health - South

Aberdeenshire Public Health - South Supporting those living and working in South Aberdeenshire to live well in healthy, well connected communities. Check when your GP practice or pharmacy is open.

Adult Social Care and Health services in Aberdeenshire are coordinated and delivered by the Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership (AHSCP), a partnership of Aberdeenshire Council and NHS Grampian. The AHSCP provides a range of care and support services in the community for people with different care needs, mainstream services, which are available to all, and specialist services designed for more complex needs. AHSCP services take a coordinated approach to the way care, support and lifestyle advice designed to keep you healthier and independent for longer is delivered. AHSCP has identified the following health improvement priorities to ensure our communities are healthy places to live, those living in our communities are able to stay resilient and are well connected to a wide range of services, support and activities in their communities:

• Improving mental health and wellbeing.
• Healthy eating, being active and healthy weight.
• Minimising the impact of poverty and inequalities.
• Building resilience and community capacity for health improvement. These priorities will be progressed in collaboration with our communities and partners across health and social care, local government and the third sector. The Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership Public Health Team has a key role in supporting the delivery of these priorities partners to deliver this plan through:

• Gathering and interpreting evidence and health information and data.
• Development of policies and strategies.
• Development of delivery plans and health improvement programmes.
• Assessing the impact of plans and programmes.
• Shifting service provision towards prevention and early intervention.

❤️ February is National Heart Month – Let’s Talk Defibrillators in Aberdeenshire ❤️
Every minute matters during a cardiac arrest, and a defibrillator (AED) can truly be the difference between life and death. Here in Aberdeenshire, we’re incredibly fortunate to have many community accessible defibrillators across our towns, villages, and rural areas — but they only save lives if people know where they are and feel confident using them.
🔶 Did you know?
Defibrillators are designed for anyone to use — they give clear voice instructions and won’t deliver a shock unless it’s needed. You can’t do any harm. What you can do is save a life.
🗺️ Find your nearest defibrillator
Take two minutes today to look up your closest Pad (Public Access Defibrillator) at:
Knowing the nearest location before an emergency happens is one of the simplest ways to be prepared.
💓 Together we can strengthen the chain of survival across Aberdeenshire.

Lived & Living Experience Involvement – Have Your Voice Heard

The Alcohol & Drugs Partnership (ADP) has now brought to a close the Lived & Living Experience Sub‑Group. In its place, they are introducing new opportunities for engagement through panels, focus groups, and conversation cafés—aimed at creating more meaningful and accessible ways for people with lived or living experience to contribute.

To ensure a wide range of voices are included, we are encouraging individuals with lived or living experience of alcohol or drug use—either personally or as a supporter—to register their interest using the simple form linked through the QR code below.

Every contribution matters. By taking part, you can help shape services, strengthen communities, and influence future decision‑making across Aberdeenshire.

Please feel free to share the form and QR code with anyone who may wish to be involved.
The more voices represented, the stronger the impact.
