We will be 100% returning next year.

I hate to talk about Christmas, buuuuut, this special event will be a relaxing, cosy yoga class to take the stress down a few notches before the big day.

We'll start with some flowing poses to connect our movements to our breath, then we'll focus on a more restorative practice by holding deep-tissue postures for longer, allowing us to silence our chattering minds and find some inner calm.

All with aromatherapy, candlelight, soft Christmas music, and finishing off with optional non-alcoholic mulled wine and sweet treat.

Give yourself the gift of relaxation this Christmas 😌 ✨️

The class is from 6.30-8pm on Friday, 12th December at the lovely Leonard Stanley Village Hall, Leonard Stanley. There's plenty of parking, and I have spare mats if you need one.

Monday morning yoga space πŸ™Œ

When it's wet and cold, we don't want to get up early and go to class ... but we always feel better when we do πŸ₯°

I like cosy spaces and use all the tools in my toolbox to create a warm and comfortable environment for you.

Gloucestershire has some beautiful village halls and they carry such happy history, it feels so right to build little yoga communities within the community πŸ§˜πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Where do you practice? A hall? Studio? Home? Tell me about your favourite yoga spaces and what makes them special πŸ’«

Prepping and planning for a 121 yoga session tomorrow.

Most of my planning (both 121s and classes) begins with a theme or objective and a very rough draft.

I scribble down the poses that I think work well with my theme, then some preparatory / warm-up poses for my peak pose, then I review what I've got and assemble them into a sensible order, with some fun elements added in because we need movement to be enjoyable!

This session is focusing on yoga for heart health and pain management, so I've started with grounding breathwork and postures, heart-opening asana and then a guided meditation tailored to letting go of the tension that chronic pain creates in our body.

The student will keep a (tidy) version of the lesson plan to practice at home (I lack artistic skill, but things don't have to be pretty to do good work).

Does yoga help with your chronic pain? Do you have trouble letting go of pain? Has yoga helped with pain management?

We've now broken up for half-term. I think it's good to have a break from your practice every so often, so that when we return we know what we've been missing. Often it is only after a break that we realise the benefits of our gentle, regular movement. It's a chance to check-in and review.

Sometimes we have extended breaks from our practice, and that's ok, too. Life happens.

And yoga will always be there when you need it. Like a friend welcoming you home πŸ™Œ
