AFTERCARE ADVICE FOR MASSAGE
Voice your opinion
I want to know! Provide feedback to ensure you get the most out of your massage therapy sessions. Let me know what worked and what didn't, and what you absolutely loved! I can then re create what is unique to you every time đ
Sip, Hydrate, Repeat
Rehydrate after massage to help reduce muscle soreness. Research suggests that adequate hydration can improve muscle function and reduce muscle cramping. Consider consuming electrolyte-rich drinks, such as coconut water, to replenish lost electrolytes.
Fuel, Recover, Relax
Continue the self care by having a nourishing meal after your treatment. Consuming protein after massage can help promote muscle recovery and repair. Research suggests that protein intake can reduce muscle soreness and aid recovery.
Stretch, Breathe, Relax
Stretching and deep breathing can help reduce muscle tension, improve flexibility, and promote relaxation. Research shows that stretching can decrease cortisol levels, heart rate, and blood pressure, while increasing feelings of relaxation and reducing muscle soreness. Deep breathing, in particular, can activate the parasympathetic nervous system, promoting a state of calm and reducing stress. A leisurely walk after or next day can help reduce stiffness, muscle soreness and promote blood flow.
Drift to Dreamland
After a rejuvenating massage, give your body the gift of restful sleep. Research shows that sleep plays a crucial role in muscle recovery and repair, allowing your body to rebuild and recharge. An early night can help regulate your body's natural rhythms, promoting deeper relaxation and reducing muscle soreness.
