🌿 Volunteer Day Update – Thank You 🌿

Despite a very wet and windy start to the week, and having to delay our Volunteer Day until midday, we still managed to get a small but mighty team together and make a really good dent in the jobs at the Wellbeing Garden.

A huge thank you to Dan, Kara and Sally for braving the conditions and cracking on regardless, your time, energy and good spirits made a real difference. And as always, a big thank you to Alison for her continued support and being part of the heart of what we do.

Weather like this reminds us why flexibility matters. For those who couldn’t make it this time, we’ll be rescheduling another volunteer day soon so everyone has the chance to come down and get involved when conditions are kinder.

- Be honest

Check in with yourself, are you being honest with yourself about what you need, not just what you want.

- Prioritise

You are allowed to prioritise yourself and plan in self-care.

- Feel

Get out your head and into your body, notice what your body is factually doing,(e.g shallow breathing)to understand how your body reacts to stress, anxiety, etc.

You don't have to feel 'festive'. Find moments of joy in a way that works for you.

Say no when you need to and give yourself permission to change your mind.

Take regular breaks from challenging situations or family members.

Grief can resurface, feel bigger or cause emptyness at christmas. Be gentle with yourself.

Reduce isolation at by reaching out to those who are alone this christmas time.

🌿 Men’s Wellbeing Wednesdays 🌿
Space to talk, tools to grow, time for you.

We’re really pleased to be launching Men’s Wellbeing Wednesdays in the new year at our Wellbeing Garden in Burbage.

This will be a relaxed, welcoming midweek meetup for men, offering space to slow down, connect with others and explore practical ways to support wellbeing in a friendly, down-to-earth environment.

Sessions will include informal conversation, guest speakers, practical life tools, and a safe, supportive space with no pressure to talk. One-to-one support will also be available once a month.
