🐾 We’re excited to share that we’ve been contacted by the BAFTA nominated Channel 4 series The Dog House!
They’re looking for dog lovers across the UK who could offer a loving home to a rescue dog — and they want this new series to be inclusive, representative, and full of the joy dogs bring to every kind of household.
Filmed at Woodgreen Pets Charity, the show follows their expert team as they carefully match each dog with the right home and lifestyle. It’s a beautiful celebration of the bond between humans and dogs, and how a rescue pup can fit into anyone’s life.
If you’ve ever thought about adopting, this could be a wonderful opportunity to get involved. We are all dog lovers at NTRehab, so let us know if you apply!

Cooking is something many of us take for granted, but for people living with neurological conditions such as Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), preparing meals can sometimes feel overwhelming or exhausting.

The Cookfulness Classes have been designed specifically to support the FND community by helping people rediscover the joy of cooking. The sessions introduce adaptive kitchen tools and energy-saving techniques that can make meal preparation simpler, more manageable and less tiring.

These types of practical strategies can play an important role in helping people maintain independence, confidence and good nutrition.

If you or someone you know is living with FND, this may be a really helpful resource.

⭐ Celebrating Jamie’s Journey ⭐

We were incredibly proud to see our patient, Jamie, recently featured in the Coventry City programme, highlighting his inspiring story and the positive impact he is now making as a volunteer with Coventry City Women & Girls FC.

In 2022, Jamie was involved in a serious accident which resulted in a traumatic brain injury. Since then, he has shown tremendous determination throughout his recovery, working hard to rebuild his confidence and independence.

Jamie is now volunteering with the club’s girls’ teams, supporting training sessions and helping raise awareness of hidden disabilities through the use of the sunflower lanyard. His enthusiasm and positivity are already making a real difference to the young players he works with.

It’s fantastic to see Jamie continuing to move forward and becoming such a valued member of the club. Stories like Jamie’s remind us just how powerful community, opportunity and rehabilitation can be in helping people rebuild their lives after life-changing injuries.

Well done Jamie, we’re all incredibly proud of you. 👏⚽

🌍 World Obesity Day 2026 🌍

A little reminder that improving your health doesn’t have to start with big changes. Often, small steps can make a huge difference.

If getting active feels overwhelming, try starting with simple, manageable movement like a short walk around your home and garden, gentle chair exercises such as leg lifts and arm raises, stretching to improve flexibility and reduce stiffness, and trying to break up sitting time by standing or moving for a few minutes every hour.

Movement helps to improve your strength, mobility, circulation, mood and overall wellbeing.

Please read the below fact sheet for some more information about obesity or visit www.worldobesityday.org

High blood pressure is the biggest risk factor for stroke. It causes about half of all strokes.

This we're proud to support the Stroke Association and encourage everyone to check their blood pressure – so that we can stop stroke before it happens.

As today is International Lego Day we thought it was a lovely opportunity to re-share a fantastic milestone from one of our patients, John! 🏆

As part of his ongoing therapy, John completed building this impressive LEGO tank, and we couldn’t be prouder of his hard work!

This LEGO tank set has been an effective therapeutic tool to support John’s rehabilitation journey. Not only is it a fun and engaging activity, but it also encourages the use of his hand, allowing him to work on his fine motor skills, coordination, and using his hand as a stabiliser. 🧩✨

❄️ Winter has a quiet side effect we don’t talk about enough – deconditioning…

With less movement, more sitting, fewer outings, over time this can lead to:
• Muscle weakness
• Reduced balance
• Stiff joints
• Lower confidence with everyday tasks

The good news? It can be avoided and prevention starts small!

Here are some things that can help:
• Break up long sitting periods
• Gentle strength and balance exercises
• Short, regular walks
• Keep joints moving

If you’ve noticed walking feels harder, getting up is slower, or confidence has dipped and you need some support with getting moving again, we’re here to help.
Our expert physiotherapy services focus on restoring safe movement, independence, and confidence, at your pace and in your own environment.
